  • Worked very well
I tried several tools to take out a stubborn lower control arm from the steering knuckle of my 2004 Mercedes E500, and this is the only one that worked

  • Worked excellent for my Mercedes E500 W211's Lower Balljoint
What's not to like? Heavy tools and they performed perfectly. I was able to separate the lower ball joint with no damage to the boot. I used the 31mm claw and greased the threads of the tool with silicone grease. Slow tightening of the bolt of the tool and the ball joint separate with a loud pop! Very reasonably price of this tool set. I highly recommend this set. ... show more

  • Works well, needs to be firmly seated and centered - Came with 32 mm in lieu of 31 mm
The tool worked well once I got it fully seated on the lower front ball joint of a 2001 Acura MDX. I had to remove the brake caliper assembly to better align the tool. The forked/slotted "yoke" was a little too thick to push in by hand, as it was touching the lower control arm when partially inserted (i.e. the space between the wheel knuckle and the control arm was less than the thickness of the tool). I needed to hammer in the "yoke" (much like a "pickle fork") to get it well seated, then all was well. I have to warn that the tool I received did not match the description. The tool was supposed to have a 31 mm "yoke", but instead it has a 32 mm piece, which many similar tools have. I returned the first one I received because of this, but its replacement was also with 32, no 31. I decided to make do with the 32 rather than enter a perpetual cycle of returning and reordering. My order was fulfilled by Amazon - I don't know if the fault likes with Amazon or with the seller, but I hope my feedback on the inventory can help resolve it. ... show more

  • Highly recommended quality product. 2003 suburban
Spent agonizing days hammering my pickle fork and using various tricks to try separate the ball joint from the lower control arm. Was contemplating getting my car towed to a shop but ordered this instead. The regular store ball joint separators do not fit a 2003 chevy suburban, this product is big enough to do the job on this chevy. Saved my arse for sure. Great product at a great price ... show more

  • Fantastic tool!
I struggled with this steering knuckle on my Land Rover for hours with cheaper tools, damaging them. 10 minutes after Amazon delivered this tool, the joint was separated with no struggle. It's worth the money. Great tool!!!

  • Great tool that does not damage rubber boots
I used it to disassemble front suspension on Mercedes E350. It helped preserve all rubber boots as it allow to choose fork wide enough to not tear boot. Highly reccomend it!!!

  • Not the cheapest, but def overbuilt
It popped the balljoints off Mazda super easy when the fork I had was doing nothing. Just a fyi, don't use an impact with the chamfered threaded rod, because it will gall it up and will not come off.
