Finally decided to do something about my pencil neck jk. I actually bought this harness to help me rehab my neck as I have chronic back and neck pain due to a head injury which resulted in disc compression. Since I can't regenerate the disc, I can try and strengthen the muscle around them. I've used this harness a couple of times and so far it works great. The harness is very well cushioned and balances on the head comfortably. The fabric is thick and feels like quality material with padding and heavy duty stitching. The chain is about 17" long when looped. I wear glasses, so I do have to remove them. The adjustments are made with Velcro and there is one on the forehead and another chin strap. If you really want it to fit snug, you can use the chin strap, but I just hung it on my head and let gravity do the work. Otherwise, there is no pinching or pressure points. I used a 25lb plate (looped through the center hole) which it handled with aplomb. With that weight the D rings stayed level. I'm sure the chain and heavy duty fabric can handle a lot more weight if you need it. ... show more

This harness has been a nice addition to my workout routine, helping me strengthen my neck instead of holding a weight plate to my forehead. The harness is comfortable to wear, and the adjustable straps make it suitable for various fitness levels. It's a little hard to get it tight enough on the chin without choking yourself, so it may be a little loose during use, but it is much better than any alternative methods I've tried. ... show more

Great fit, durable, will work great. It did have a strong outgas smell at first, but eventually went away. The only thing I don't like, is when I hook the chain to the D rings and perform a range of motion with my head going back, the chain catches on the D rings and makes a loud grinding noise in your ears. I put some black duct tape over these and the chain slides smoothly now. If they altered the angle of the ring for the chains I don't think this would occur. ... show more

Whipping this out in the gym will definitely make people look at you funny, but overall it does what is needed. It is not the most comfortable because the material can be rough on your chin/neck/ears. The same material is very sturdy and secure though. I've lifted up to 45lbs with this at a 3x12 rep setting, held together and never felt like I was going to get injured. Range of motion is limited but there is only so much you can do with your neck harness hooked to the weights. Vertical movement is easy, lateral movement may be difficult depending on if you're using plates or a cable cord attachment. ... show more

    • Great quality, but needs a little more refinement.
This is a good harness, with better quality than most others I've tried, but in my opinion it still needs a few improvements. For starters, although it's really nice that it has neoprene padding on the front and top, it could also use that same padding on the back as well. Secondly, the reason I bought this model was for the longer side pieces, where the chain actually attaches, as I thought they'd be great for keeping the chain and attachments off of my face (and out of my facial hair), which they do, but they also fold up and feel a little awkward in their own right, which is obviously still problematic. Finally, I wish someone would make a model that used rope, or some other material, instead of a chain, as the chains tend to cause a jerky motion that can in turn cause little neck stingers, at least in my experience, and this could in turn help to shed the longer side attachment pieces, so long as the rope was soft enough not to cause irritation. All the above said, this really is a well built harness, so if you're happy with the function of standard harnesses, but just want a better quality model, this one will serve you great. ... show more
