Overall, I've been pleased with this laptop stand. I needed something to support my laptop so I could still work while I was lying flat recovering from ankle surgery, but I've also used it while sitting upright on the sofa, reclining in a lounger, and standing at a counter or table. While easy to adjust, it can take a bit of trial-and-error to find just the right combination of angles for one's current position. Suggested angles for different positions are provided with the tray instructions, and I made my own list of 2 or 3 that worked best for me. I have a wide, very heavy Lenovo ThinkPad with number pad, so when the tray is angled more vertically, sometimes gravity works with the laptop to push the rubber strip off the bottom of the tray and then the laptop slides off. Those with lighter laptops probably wouldn't have this same issue. The legs are aluminum with plastic connectors, so the whole unit is lightweight. It's fairly sturdy, but I think the weight of my laptop causes a little more wiggle to the tray when in certain positions. Because my laptop is heavy, I'm also careful to remove the laptop before adjusting the legs as I don't want to exert undue pressure on the plastic joints. My laptop typically runs hot. When placed on a flat surface, the fan runs a lot and the surface below the laptop gets very warm. When I'm using this tray, I rarely hear the fan come on, I don't get any heat transfer from the laptop to me, and the tray beneath the laptop is cool to the touch. The removable mouse pad is useful too, and it is adjustable, so it can stay flat regardless of the angle of the laptop tray. An improvement would be a slight lip at the bottom so that the pad could be angled without the mouse falling off. ... show more

    • A bit flimsy
I’ll be honest I thought it would be a heavy duty one like my friend’s that looks exactly like this one but apparently more durable. I bought it in June and just over the 30 day return window, it broke! I take partial blame because I was stretching the arms because the size of the XL barely fit over my legs if I was sitting in any position than a right angle, legs down. One of the arms came off along with the knob and spring and I can’t make it click back into place. I’ve already had to spend several minutes before using it (every time!) just readjusting the arms to fit at a level that works for me. It arrived from manufacturer with the box damaged and the item exposed. The item itself was dirty and dinged up in several spots even after I cleaned it. The the joints are loose on both sides of AB. The mouse area is a slick coated metal so not really useful for using a mouse unless you can put some sort of small mouse pad or maybe a 3m surface. And lastly, if you use the same numbers to adjust on both sides it will not be equal. I had to just eye it to get it right. Aside from all of that I was able to find a good angle to hold my laptop the way I wanted. The mouse area even slants as well since it hooks into the table which is a plus if it could be used effectively as a mouse pad. Can't believe it took me 3 years of WFH to buy this guy. I use a microsoft surface with a bluetooth keyboard and this has helped me ease neck strain and improved my posture. Great stand, very adjustable and sturdy without being super bulky. I do wish it were easier to keep a balance, but that's not that big of a deal. ... show more

The desk looks good and I really wanted to keep it. However whoever designed the desk was overly ambitious. The legs have three parts, and each part can be configured differently by three buttons (on each side). So mulitple possible configurations--if it works. They do have numbers on each side so you can adjust both sides the same--except the numbers are difficult to see when adjusting. Well, one of buttons would not work so couldn't use it as a stand for my lap. The website did not seem to be working, and I called customer service and still have not received a response. ... show more
