  • The Good The Bad The Ugly
Color: 220-Blue
I've had these aids for several weeks now. Back story, I lost my $1800 Behind the Ear (BTE) aids and could not afford to purchase new ones so stated trying aids listed on Amazon. The old BTE aids had microphones facing towards the back and I could hear voices behind me better than those in front of me. Always asking people in front of me to speak up to overcome the background voices. I wear aids 10-12 hours per day. First "The Good": the sound quality is great, better than other aids I used even the extremely expensive ones; I think this is due to the "speaker" being in the ear rather than the sound traveling down a tube from the aid to the ear. The design of these has the microphone above the ear pointing towards the front, much better than the previous aids with the microphone facing the rear. The four "program" settings are adequate for me as I was able to set them to amplify the lower frequencies which I needed. The batteries are large capacity and last for several weeks as there is an Off/On switch, no more having to open the battery compartment to turn the aids off. Secondly, "The Bad": the control for setting the program is a little small and took some getting used to when wearing the aids so I could hear the beeps indicating the program, I'm used to it now. The volume controls took some getting used too also. The amplification is very good; which in turn leads to hearing background sound that some may find objectionable. I'm used to that sound now and tune it out. Thirdly "The Ugly": these aid are much larger than all the other BTE aids I tried, even the expensive ones, so they are very noticeable; especially, the speaker unit in the ear which looks like a large disc. So, if you are worried about appearance over function than these probably are not for you. If your priority is for better hearing than certainly try these. They work well for me. If you ask why I don't have "In the Canal (IC)" or "Completely in the Canal (CIC)" it's because my ear canals are very small so they are extremely hard to fit. My first pair, cost $4000, took five attempts to get them small enough to fit in my canal. Thus, I have used BTE's ever since. I recommend trying these as they may be ugly but work better than others I have tried. 3/25/21 UPDATE: Still find these the best hearing devices I've had. Now for the back story to this update: Last weekend I was at a garage sale and when taking my mask off I pulled on device off my ear and it fell in the roadway. Did not discover it until I'm in my car so went back to find it and watched a Chev 2500 pickup run over it. When I picked it up the "cap" on the part that goes in the ear had popped off and it was dusty. Took it home and blew the dust off and reattached the back piece. Turned it off and back on. WOW, it worked just like before. A little scratched up but it still worked. Great product that can stand up to being run over by a 5000 pound truck and still work. ... show more

  • Really work well for me.
Color: 220-Blue
If you are bothered by these hearing amplifiers being obvious then you probably don't want them. However, if you want to hear things better I would recommend them to you. I bought a pair of these to use while my $3000 set was being sent in for repair. While they are not as good as the $3000 set, I am very pleased with tier performance. They really help while listening to radio or television. My wife appreciates that I don't have the volume on those machines too loud when I have theses on. I really appreciate the on-off switch being easily accessed because their are times when I need to shut them off. One of those times is when I am outside on a windy day. Very noisy in the wind. Another time is when my grandchildren are playing and yelling. Again, too loud. When my screen door slams shut, they are too loud. But I can live with all of these things just to be able to hear at an affordable price. Love the long lasting batteries. I am a farmer and I use these for my ever-day work around the farm. I save the $3000 pair for public such as meetings, church, funerals and weddings. I would give them 5 stars if they weren't so obvious to others that I have on hearing aides. However, I am an old guy and have past the stage that I care too much about what others think so I probably should have given them that 5 star rating. ... show more

Quality-wise, this product does improve hearing. They are comfortable. They are clear sounding. Highly recommended for anyone who needs a reliable and affordable hearing aid! They are easy to adjust the volume, lightweight and easy to wear!

  • A lot has changed in 3 months
Color: 220-Blue
Update: I have had three pairs of these Hearing Amplifiers, plus a few replacements. While they work great for a while and help someone like me with high hearing loss, unfortunately, none of mine lasted longer than 7 to 8 months. At least for me, that's been the average longevity of each pair I've had, they die when they reach eight-month of age. Now, this goes without saying, that I cleaned them faithfully, every day, used HALHEN SUPER DRI-AIR to store them at nighttime, and always kept them safe and dry. No showers! I'm not even getting in touch with Britzgo anymore, it happens so often, that to ask for a refund or replacement, they might think I am lying. The pair I just bought several months ago, just died this week. If only they could last the full one year for me! Other than that, they are good aids while they last. Worth the money! They work just as well or almost as well as my $3500 pair. Who can afford hearing aids anymore, healthcare should cover them. Anyhow, I am buying another pair as backup. UPDATE: These are not as good as my $3500 pair. I was wrong!! These hardly work properly now, being they barely pick up any sound at all. I can't hear anything from them. Even replacing batteries and keeping them clean, the capability has reduced sharply!! I wish it wasn't so. Maybe someone with a low loss of hearing could use them, but I have profound hearing and these just don't amplify the sound like they did when they were new, Not worth the price when I bought these only in MAY ... show more
