    • Worked fine and then they went out

I ordered this product based on the positive reviews and comparison to hearing aids purchased from reputable stores. These worked amazingly well for a period of time. Then I started having Bluetooth connectivity issues. They would not connect so they were functioning as sound amplifiers. When they did connect they wouldn't stay connected. I called the customer service line and was told they were working on the issue and to call back in a week. Weeks turned into months and at one point when I called, the only option was to leave a message. I left several messages. During this time period one hearing aid completely went out. Was not even powering on. I called back and finally spoke to someone- was told they would send a replacement but the other one still wasn't keeping the connection- they told me they could not replace that one. As I type this, the one that was working is now completely out. So I will be calling again. I'm really disappointed because I am paying monthly on an item that is not functioning properly plus I really need them to be able to live a full life. It is a challenge to go about my day and not hearing certain sounds and voices. Now I wish I would have made the financial sacrifice to get the $6000 pair the audiologist recommend. This is my first programmable hearing aid. Had been using a treble/bass one for 7 years. Entered my audiogram data and got a ton of back feed. Tried using the advanced feature and helped some. Switched to the solid cap design and it helped. I have some sever loss in the upper range, 85-90, so modified to max of 80. After doing more advance setting, finally got the feed back under control. Running volume control at 6 and for the first time in years, am now hearing in stereo. I still get some occasional chirping but can live with it. Removing the tube for cleaning could be a challenge for weak hands. Old ear buds had a tool to help. These are just pure brute force. Update: After one month, the tube no longer fits tight. When I called support, was told the tube is an accessory and not covered by the warranty. They offered to give me one replacement since I had only had it one month. These could become an expensive proposition. Update 2: dropping another star. Replacement tube has same issue. Also seeing blue copper erosion on tube. Too late to return. Very good at making hearing better but will become very expensive with all the tube replacements. ... show more

I am returning the hearing aids because they do not address the Tinnitus problem that I have. I did speak to Mae in Customer Service and she spent a long time with me trying to get the aids to work for me. Unfortunately, the Tinnitus was worse when I was wearing the aids. They did appear to have good sound and other than confusion about the right versus left ear, I think they would work fine for seniors without Tinnitus. Very good customer service. Just wish it could have worked out for me. Should add the Tinnitus to the website description for other purchasers. ... show more
