I had prescription over-the-ear hearing aids for more than 15 years, but increasing costs of updating them (>$5,000) became prohibitive. The Audien Atom Pro 2 is a value-based quality product which in these past 3+ weeks has provided me with the hearing enhancements I need. The hearing modes and volume levels allow me to choose what I need during the changes in my day. I use the lowest level of volume, and I switch modes depending on the circumstances such as driving, crowded areas and TV. The Atom Two has powerful amplification, and it offers four user selectable sound processors for various situations such as conversation, TV, restaurant and out doors. All of these alter your sonic experience which may aid understanding conversation at your table in a crowded room. Hearing in crowded bars, restaurants has been a problem for me, but my first experience in such a place wearing these aids enabled me to hear those at my table. I have sustained aslow loss of hearing in both ears. I also have a deep, narrow band of nerve damage loss in my left which falls near the upper range of human voice. I purchased these aids because I couldn't understand one of the soft, high pitched voice of a fellow worker. I've only worn these for 16 hours so far. The greatest problem I experienced was selecting domes that suppressed feedback. This requed two hours of trial and error. Pushing the aids into the ear canal will change volume because the button which does this is on the part of the side you press on to seat and seal the aid. But, it's very simple to use set the volume where you want it. Each aid has its individual volume control which works when one ear requires more amplification as one of mine does. The audio quality, once the aids are seated and sealed in the canal is excellent and doesn't degrade after wearing the device all day. I have seen several tests showing over 20 continuous hours of wear. And, the charging case is a battery bank that once changed, is claimed to offer three more full charges. It took me about two hours to charge the bank from the supplied USB 5 V charger. My experience with the atom two is limited. Previously, I had punched OTC aids costing under $125. They didn't solve my problems. You have an adjustment period with hearing aids. This experience is the best I've had with an OTC aid, and I expect it will improve. ... show more

    • Very good small size ITE hearing aid
Audien Atom Pro 2 hearing aid is the best ITE hearing aid I own. These are all the pro features I like. 1. Sound clarity is better than all the other hearing aids I have with the convenience of ITE. 2. Mode function is very helpful and works better than all my other hearing aids, I can use the TV mode when I want to hear all my surrounding noises and outdoor mode when I am outdoor using my lawn equipments. 3. Convenience button for changing mode and volume level. 4. A small rechargeable case that come with UV light and can recharge the hearing aid 3-4 times But normally I never required to recharge my hearing aid because the battery last all day long (16 hours +) I would give Audien ATOM PRO 2 a 5 stars if it is not ITE type hearing aid which personally I don't fell that it is quite as comfortable to wear all day long as the BTE/RIC type hearing aid, but for people that prefer ITE hearing aid, this hearing aid is worth every $. P.S. I replaced my hearing aid ear dome from silicone type that come with the unit with foam type ear dome and it felt better in my ear canal and helps isolate the noise better as well. ... show more

The Audien Atom Pro 2 has been a game changer for me. I was immediately hearing things that I had not heard in a long time! I am able to hear people talking much more clearly. They are excellent in TV mode, as I have been able to lower the TV volume substantially! Very comfortable to wear, and I look forward to using them each day!     • High Performance in the ear hearing aids with reliability problems.
First, the pros for the Audien Atom Pro 2:: easy to use hearing aids with five volume levels; multiple modes to successfully control background noise; interchangeability between ears; near-invisibility; small and simple charging case; very good sound quality. Sufficient different-sized ear domes are provided to facilitate the minimizing of screeching/feedback. Customer service is first rate, and available insurance covers loss (with a copay) in addition to failure or damage (unlike the Asurion policies). The cons: perhaps I may have just had bad luck. The first pair I received had what seemed to be a mechanical failure; the mode adjustment stopped working in one ear. The second pair lasted for about three weeks of usage, but one of the aids abruptly stopped being able to receive and hold a charge; even after 4 hours in the charging case. It dies after about five minutes after insertion in my ear. I have returned that pair as well. Audien would replace them under their warrantywithout charge, but I don't trust this particular product to work for me despite its high ratings on Amazon and elsewhere. I purchased a pair of Audien's ION over the ear aid and am testing them now. Hopefully, they will be less troublesome for me than the Atom Pro 2. ... show more

    • Definitely amplifies.
They have five volume settings. I use the lowest, and it is little loud for me. For that reason, I only wear one at a time, and switch off. They are easy to use and I think the sterilization feature is wonderful. The background noise bothers me as it is also amplified. However, I am still getting use to them. This is a great alternative to expensive hearing aids, which I was dreading. The price was better through Amazon at the time I bought them. ... show more
