  • Well made awning that at least temporarily sheds water.
Was quite easy to install Once I installed brackets. Had to put up "headers" between garage 2x6 wall studs to secure bracket to. Once they were in place it was a matter of measuring 125 times to make sure I was drilling holes for the bracket in correct place...... Once that was done a buddy of mine and I were able to place awning in position, definitely would not recommend lifting awning in place by yourself. I am still working on adjusting angle to my liking, and even that is quite easy !!!!! If awning can last a few years I am very satisfied with the Diensweek Patio Awning !!!! Papa Snow ... show more

  • Great Value
This is a quality awning and is very easy to install. I read a previous review where the person purchased stainless steel lag bolts and washers instead of using the lag bolts and washers that were included, so I did the same thing. It cranks open easily but takes a bit more effort to close. Overall, I’m very happy with it and I think it’s a great value for a quality product. ... show more

  • Works as advertised.
Good product. Works as advertised. A bit of a challenge to mount. Need two people to put the awning on the support pieces. Heed the guidance regarding sturdy support. We pulled the siding off to reveal studs, mounted a heavy (2 inch thick) block of wood with eight screws into the studs, covered the wood with aluminum, then mounted the mounting pieces before re-installing siding as appropriate. BIGGEST COMP'LAINT is with the instructions. If one has never dealt with hanging an awning of this type, they would be lost. My guy figured it out, but then he is in construction and installation for a living. ... show more

  • Wonderful Unit That 1 Guy Can Install
The unit is really easy to put together. It's modular. Put the brackets up, slide the awning into the brackets, secure the awning in the brackets with the provided bolts, extend the awning and adjust the drop angle and that's it. The problem is the weight and length. I got the 8 x 10 ( it's really not, it's constructed in metrics and sold with rounded up English measurements..it's a few inches smaller, no big deal) and it weights 55lbs. To try and slip both ends of a 55 lb 10' stick into 2 tight fitting slots is hard and tiring. Get a helper is the easiest and safest, but if that's not possible and you are the only one doing this, mount your brackets on the wall and then lay a 2x4 over the top of the brackets and use a couple of ropes or ratchet tie down straps to tie up the awning to the 2x4 and pull the awning up bit by bit, close to the brackets. With the straps holding up the heavy awning close to the mounting bracket slots, you can easily push the awning mounting bar into each bracket and secure each side all by yourself. Remove the straps/ropes and the 2x4 and you're good to go. Time consuming but it works. Also, the wall brackets must go in an exact location at each end of awning. But you must, for safety, bolt the brackets into the house studs. So if the installation doesn't conform to where the studs are at, I suggest putting up a header board that is the length of the awning and bolted to every stud between the ends of the awning. Then mount your brackets to the header board as is required for you awning placement. The last thing I noticed was that all the measurements are in metrics and the instructions suggest that the mounting on the wall be at around 10' and then adjust the drop angle so you can walk under the front easily. I'm a 6' guy and I found that the 10' suggest was way too tall. I did mine to 9' and wished I had even mounted it a little lower. I adjusted the angle drop to about 7' at the front. But by doing that, it reduces how far out the awning will travel, you are reducing the width by increasing the angle of drop. I bought the smaller size so it maybe different with a larger, heavier awning. But it is something to plan for before you start putting this all together. It's a great unit, it's a fun project, and best of all it really made a difference for shading and cooling my sun drenched patio. Update 05/2023; Sadly the awning fabric is not UV protected from color fade. For the cost of this, I had assumed it would be. So 2 years later my deep blue awning has turned to light gray. Changing the fabric out is not that big a deal, but the company has no spare parts. So I'm searching 3rd party suppliers. At this point, I'd recommend to any that buy this unit, spray UV block annually to slow down the fade or just buy light gray and be done with it. ... show more

  • Love our Patio Awning
Love our Patio Awning! Looks exactly as picture shows and takes sun off of my patio. Takes 2 men to install. I wish they had it in electric vs Manuel although it isn’t hard to do. The quality is good and 2 year extra warranty is very reasonable. Highly reccomend.

  • This shade really cools down the side of my house.
We saved a lot of money purchasing it on Amazon. My husband was able to install it.

Seems to be good quality. Makes a nice addition to our patio UPDATE: The green stripes are fading quickly (6 mos) in our Arizona sun; maybe a sturdier material (such as Sunbrella) would have held up to the sunlight better.
