Description

The 20V MAX XR brushless cordless 1/4 sheet variable speed sander provides you with the power and runtime needed to get the job done. A variable-speed dial provides speed control from 8,000 - 14,000 OPM for a variety of jobs. One-handed locking dust bag attaches securely to the sander to aid in dust collection or the user can attach the sander directly to the DWV010 or DWV012 dust collectors (sold separately). Rubber overmold grip provides comfortable sanding. Paper clamp designed to hold paper securely and for ease of installation. Battery and charger sold separately.

The sander is as expected and I'm happy with it's performance. When I received my order it did not come in the manufacturers (Dewalt) box. Although the sander appears to be unused I would feel more comfortable if it came in the original packaging. I received the order in a plain brown box as expected but, inside the box was the item I oredered loose in the box inside the manufacturers (Dewalt) yellow and black canvas bag. There wasn't any kind of packing material supporting the shippment from damage. The original packaging would have provided the needed protection. I suspect the person who packed the shippment couldn't get the manufacturers packaging in the selected shipping box as is so they took the item out of the original box instead of getting a bigger shipping box. ... show more

Bought this for my wife to use to sand down a wooden queen headboard and footboard to refinish it. It was easy for her to use. She could even change the sandpaper. Was not too bad on batteries - we use 5 amp 20 volt batteries. Did great job. Love that we can buy full sheets of sandpaper and cut in quarters to fit perfectly. Very economical. I own a number of DeWalt cordless power tools, and this 1/4 plate sander does not disappoint. I sanded some weathered wood patio furniture a couple of weeks ago, and it produced the surface finish I required. My only nit-pick it that the dust collection system does not perform that well.

I really like this sander. Very handy and powerful. Great to have if you are doing short bursts of work that may require one or two batteries. Past that I would switch to the corded model.

Fine so far. I checked out, it was late coming in, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I like the dust collector. The plastic piece punches holes in the sandpaper to let the dust go through to the dust collector.

Some people may not like Dewalt, but I’m partial to Dewalt because it was the only brand that last for my dad who was a contractor. I bought this style sander because I grew up with the sander with the old clamp that you had to use a flat head to open and slide the paper in. My oscillating tool is hook and loop and I go through sandpaper like crazy so I definitely wasn’t getting that type sander. I sanded my window trim with it and sanded a pvc table with it before paint it and it worked great. I use the 20v max xr 5ah battery and it lasted for 2 windows and a table and hardly used any battery because 3 bars were still green. My mini circular saw devours the battery, but the sander hardly used any battery and it was used on the 2nd to highest speed. ... show more
