  • Another Quality DEWALT Product
Color: Multi Size: One Size
I've already used the DEWALT 12-Inch Compound Miter Saw (DWS715) to build a new workbench, and to cut dozens of identical-length planks for a "carriage house style" garage door. With a stop block it worked perfectly. It is sturdy, well built, and designed to last a long time. I've been really happy with it. ... show more

  • Easy to use.
Color: Multi Size: One Size
I’m replacing a worn out Craftsman chop saw, so the DEWALT is a big step up for me. It cuts nice, even with the 32 tooth blade. I plan to upgrade to an 80 tooth in the future for smoother fine cuts. It’s easy to set up and use. I was just cutting moulding, so it worked perfectly. It is a big saw, but not super heavy. A cart or table would be nice to move it around. The dust collection bag worked better than most others I’ve used as well. I was very pleased with the price (around $259) too. ... show more

  • Best in class...
Color: Multi Size: One Size
I was a Carpenter and Builder for more than 30 years. In all that time I never drank the Dewalt kool-aid. I appreciated the ergonomics but never saw the long lasting quality across the line. It seemed each tool had a best in class from a specific manufacturer, so I have tools from almost all manufacturers. I only mention it because I have seen quite a few Dewalt “fans” who buy everything black & yellow regardless if there was a better tool from someone else. Having matching socks is a good idea, but tools? Anyway, I wanted to replace my Evolution Fury 8 1/4” sliding compound miter saw with something new that would provide out of the box squareness and accuracy. Reading reviews and knowing I wanted as few adjustments as possible, and therefore as many positive stops, I chose this. I am absolutely in love with this machine. If I were building every day I might consider spending 2 to 3 times as much money, but then to have a saw dedicated to simple, square, repetitive cuts is probably still worth it. If you are carting around a big, heavy, dual compound slide you’ll see the accuracy degrade over time and go out of adjustment in all directions. It becomes harder and harder to maintain accuracy. That’s the real beauty of this saw. Nicely thought out detentes, compound only one side so straight up and down (vertical squareness) is always accurate, a nice trigger safety system with a horizontal D handle, and a power and smoothness that makes beautiful cuts, is exactly what I was looking for. I should mention that the 12” size provides a huge capability, but unlike an old Delta 12” I used for many years it is not at all a scary size for a “homeowner” saw. As far as taking it to the job site, it’s light and should travel well. Like all miter saws if you carry it from the base and not the trigger handle it will be accurate for many, many years. 5 stars, best in it’s class. Couldn’t ask for more out of this saw. ... show more

  • Perfect for me ...
Color: Multi Size: One Size
This is perfect for my trim-work. As I said in a previous post all my trim tools got ruined during a couple of hurricanes. Starting a new project I needed a new saw. It took me a wee bit to get used to the safety and I can't use those thoughts here. However after a couple days I was used to it and my finger automatically flipped the safety without a second thought. It's a really strong saw and quite sturdy . Accuracy I thought might be a problem especially after shipping, i planned on having to make adjustments. But it's been NO problem at all. It does go as far as 50 degrees on both sides if you need it ,which can occasionally be useful. Personally I have no problems or real negatives . ... show more

  • Great saw for the price point. But had some issues.. like a lot of other folks.
Color: Multi Size: One Size
PROS: Powerful, easy to adjust bevels and accurate miter stops, good value. It's usually sub $250 so while I understand there are *a lot* of 10" options which are sliding compound miter saws so they narrow the 'gap' considerably with capacity vs. this saw for roughly the same, price. Personal preference. DeWalt has a solid reputation when it comes miter/table saws. They just do. CONS: Had to return my first unit <1 year in. The same issues as mentioned here, after a while the motor ("start up") took several seconds to get to higher RPM and longer to shut off. This **isn't** normal and should have you servicing (hopefully under warranty) this tool, *immediately*. Even if your saw is still making cuts, I wouldn't continue to use it. This shouldn't happen on a saw this age but it *does* happen (12yr old Bosch... same issue). Replacement through DeWalt was very easy and I had my replacement saw in about a week. Whether it was a factory refurbished unit, I couldn't easily tell. DeWalt provided me with a prepaid shipping label as well when I indicated I lived in a pretty rural area. Excellent service. ... show more

  • Does the Job
Color: Multi Size: One Size
My father had an old Dewalt saw like this and I grew up using it. I wasn’t sure how their quality had changed over time but wanted to give it a chance. I’ve used it a few times now for larger projects and it’s been great. It’s easy to store and it’s got what I need for my work bench. Cuts easily and accurately. Enjoy the fact you can lock in the angles easily. Would recommend for a friend wanting a simple but solid saw for projects. ... show more
