  • Great cordless saw
Color: Black, Yellow
What a great solution when you don't need the huge Dewalt chop saw on a job. This one is lightweight and easy to carry around. Does an excellent cut and very accurate right out of the box. I was even cutting 4x4 Poplar post with ease. Great addition to my tool collection. Only wish I had was a brushless motor and double miter. ... show more

  • Great trim saw
Color: Black, Yellow
Perfect little job site finish saw that's battery powered so no need to find a plug-in. Lightweight, easy to handle.

  • Way exceeded my expectations
Color: Black, Yellow
Was getting tired of lugging my 12" Dewalt mitre and stand around. It seemed like most of my jobs became trim work, moldings, and cabinet repair. I was already equipped with an arsenal of high amp Dewalt batteries from my other saws so I took the leap. I can't believe how small and light this saw is while working like a monster cutting everything I throw at it. I was worried about its capability to cut larger molding vertically but it's notched out at the fence to allow for taller material. Matched with the smaller lighter stand this thing has saved my back and hardly takes up any room in the bed of the truck. And... no more cords. Pinch me I must be dreaming. ... show more

  • Great Little Saw...EXCEPT for THIS
Color: Black, Yellow
Ok, let me preface this review... Love the saw except for one thing which all of you should know about. I've done a few pretty major jobs with saw now, and overall it has made my work life better. -so 5 stars so far. I'd buy it again unless DeWalt comes up with something even better. With only a 7.25" blade I was not expecting miracles capacity-wise and I bought it mostly to cut small trim that does not warrant hauling around a big saw. It was perfectly set up right out of the box - I didn't have to adjust anything except the scale pointers (The saw cut perfect 90 and 45 in both directions turn and bevel... I just tweaked the pointers to make it read more accurately for ME. Even those might have been perfect for someone else. I also put the thinnest highest-toothed carbide finishing blade on it that I could find - The blade that comes with it is just fine - a high quality DeWalt carbide blade... but I am doing very fussy cabinet/trim work at the moment and wanted the finest cut/highest tooth number I could find. The shadow light blade indicator works perfectly- way more accurate than the typical blade laser. One minor beef - the switch to turn the light on is stiff and harder to operate than it needs to be (it's under a little rubber dust/moisture proof cap - very small for my fat fingers. So what's the problem? DeWalt says the saw can cut 3-1/2" baseboard standing up. Fake News folks... it can but only on one side of the blade, and in pretty much one place on the saw. That's usable once in a while, but basically to cut baseboard on this saw you're going to be doing a lot of flipping, laying down (and using the bevel) , or flipping it upside down on the left, or doing some other gymnastics that are not required on a larger saw. One big issue with that approach, a lot of 3 1/2" base you buy is NOT parallel faced, in other words you can't put the face against the fence for one cut and the back against the face for another and get the same result. So what I do is take a 12" (or so) scrap and invert that with whatever orientation I actually need. The two thicknesses - one up, one down, do result in parallel faces so you can reliably reverse the cut. Typical DIY user would have no clue about doing that and so would get very inconsistent results. No huge deal, and the motor would have to be seriously offset some way to give you the same clearance under the right of the blade, and I wouldn't expect that in a sub-$300 tool. SO the description of capacity is misleading. An experienced trim carpenter can deal with it but the fact is - you do give up a lot going from a 10 or 12" blade to a 7.25" blade. This saw is NOT a substitute for a larger saw, but it's a great companion to one, if that makes sense. I also wish it had the ability to cut dadoes and kerfing (lock the head partially down) - but alas it does not. Still, very handy little saw. Just don't expect it to be the only miter saw you'll need to own. ... show more

  • Great addition to a small shop
Color: Black, Yellow
I've lived with an old Delta chop saw and decided to upgrade to something more portable and accurate. I preferred cordless and did not want to spend the cash or have the weight of the 12" saw. This saw fits nicely in a small shop where I cut mainly smaller pieces or make furniture. I did not need something for wide boards or 4x4s. It comes ready to use right out of the box and is intuitive, requiring little reading. It comes with a tool for adjusting and this clamps on the tool where it can easily be found. I changed to a 60-tooth blade ($22) for the finest cuts. The motor sounds exactly like the 20 Volt circular saw (probably is) and has a shadow line that you line up with the cut. This works OK but is a little hard to see in daylight. It does everything I wanted with only one complaint. The picture shows the clamp that fits very loosely in a slot on the back and swivels a bit to accommodate irregular surfaces. The pad is loosely attached to a threaded rod but catches when tightening, making it very difficult to clamp securely. I abandoned this and just use a small clamp. I think the manual is 60% safety disclaimers which discourages me from reading it. I've used other people's chop saws and this one seems simpler to use. There is a lot of aluminum and plastic so I wouldn't think this would take a lot of beating in the field but it suits my purposes well. It does not seem to drain the battery nearly as fast as a circular saw. I would guess I could use this all day in my shop before recharging a 4 ah battery. I wish I had purchased this a couple years ago. ... show more

  • Very portable
Color: Black, Yellow
So far I love this saw. Of course it’s not for bigger crown molding. Can’t cut 4” material standing up right. But the Dewalt dependability is there and it’s great for smaller trim jobs and kitchen remodeling. Runs forever on a 4amp battery, but recently I got a 60 volt battery and it’s great. Degree stops are accurate and dependable. Great value for the money ... show more

  • Amazing for small jobs!
Color: Black, Yellow
I am a finish carpenter by trade and about 90% of the tools in my trailer are DeWalt yellow, so I knew the quality would be there on this product. This tool has a time and a place for me, when I’m trimming out an entire house, I would rather use my DeWalt 12” double bevel miter saw and its stand. But when I have a small job or forgot to install a piece of trim before I packed up, I just grab this little saw, throw a battery in it and pull it inside to knock out the job real quick. Also super handy for taking upstairs and sitting in the floor beside you when doing flooring or trim upstairs. Love this saw! ... show more
