For the price this truck is great on further review might not be that great. Raise the body post before you even run it. It runs way faster with the body raised. I also have seen videos where holes have been cut in back window of body to help with air flow. I have not done that yet worried that might weaken the shell. Shell is nice the spare tire and roof lights help protect shell when it rolls. Without them it would be lighter but again shell might take some damage. I have ran 5 battery lives through it and it has held up well with some pretty big crashes. The plastic pieces have lots of flex to them. These newer models only have 1 shell and charger just so you know. The original release had 2 each. Lights are good ran it at twilight last night and was impressed when ran during day didn't think much of them but in dark good. The top lights are a bit of a pain to hook up but when running during day I don't plug them in just hook the wire up in the clip inside the shell so it doesn't hang out of body. Also push the light bar down and push the clips through the 2nd hole in the post so the light bar doesn't rock around. All in all a great truck for the price thats the asterisk. Has good speed with the body lifted. The tires do rub the shell when it is lower. I might trim the wheel wells to eliminate the small amount of rubbing that still happens when turning. Good looking truck, my wife said wow when I 1st showed her so thats pretty high praise. Going to upgrade the battery for a little more power and speed but honestly as is its a good little truck for the $90 I paid. It is a little small for a 1:10 scale as others have noted but all in all I was happy with it. Adding to this run number 6 run front differential seems to have went out no more front wheel drive no hard bombing just driving around no big jumps or anything. Seems like alot to get in and actually see whats up with it going to have to take whole front end apart. This may or may not be worth really fixing might be just rear wheel till it dies. Okay revising again took dif apart looked okay. Replaced a axel going good again. So customer service got a hold of me and is sending some parts so thats cool. Truck is proving to be pretty durable and good customer service gets all 5 stars ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I’ve rated this RC truck 5 stars, taking into consideration the price point and application. Are there faster and better RC models out there? Sure, but you get what you pay for. My previous RC experience was derived from running Nitro road course cars from a different manufacturer. My other car will blow this truck away on a nice hard surface, as it’s well over twice as fast. This truck will blow away my other car in grass or on soft surfaces. You need to make sure you pick the right RC vehicle for your intended purposes. I recently bought a drone from DEERC and was impressed by the product, so when I had the opportunity to get this truck, I decided to give it a shot. When the truck arrived, it was well packaged. I unboxed the truck and looked it over carefully. I found some minor flaws in the truck body’s graphics application. For example, the left tail light is not aligned properly. Similar minor flaws are found elsewhere, but nothing that has an effect on operation or the fun factor. (See image) I removed the truck body and was a little surprised by the simplicity and the amount of space available under the body. If you’re interested in adding some accessories such as LED light kits, you should have no problems finding space to do so. Adding a brake light kit may be a challenge; the kits that I am familiar with use a switch that is actuated by the throttle/ brake servo, which this model does not have. Instead, it has a speed control module without moving parts. One thing that I immediately noticed was the plastic chassis; I’m accustomed to a full metal chassis and I wonder how well the plastic will hold up to long term abuse. I charged the batteries which requires a specific cable. I was happy to see that DEERC included 2 cables in the box, so I can charge both batteries simultaneously. You need to provide 3 AA batteries for the transmitter. As impressed as I was with the truck, I must say I am neutral on my opinion of the transmitter. It seems very lightweight and antiquated - even cheap. My transmitter for my other car allows for additional functions such as turning lights on and off, and it has a LCD display that shows trim settings and car info, but it also cost as much as this entire kit. But, for this truck the included transmitter serves its intended purpose well enough, so I can’t knock it too much. It does include steering trim and speed control. The speed control is nice for anyone that wants to get acquainted with the model running at slower speeds. It might also prove to be useful for parents that let their younger children play with the model and don’t want to risk full speed crashes. Once the batteries were charged I made the necessary electrical connections and put the body on the truck. Done. That beats dealing with Nitro fuel, glow plugs, carburetor settings, oiling up air filters, etc. any day of the week if you’re looking for some quick and easy fun. As I take the truck out for the first time, I’m immediately hooked. This thing is fun! I took it out on the road and found it to be fairly quick; not super fast, but nimble. It handled our lawn with ease so I took a shot at our neighbor’s lawn which is a bit taller. Still no problems there. A few jumps, a few rollovers; this truck handled it all and put a smile on my face. I’m not convinced that this is a 1:10 scale truck. It feels a bit smaller than that, so for those that are considering aftermarket bodies, you should probably measure to ensure a good fit. The run time seems good; this is my first exposure the electric RC models, so I have nothing to compare to, but I’m getting a longer run time than I do out of a tank of Nitro fuel, so I’m happy with that. Considering everything you get in this kit - 2 batteries, 2 charging cables, 2 truck bodies, some spare hardware, and of course the truck and transmitter - I’d say you get good value for the price of around $120. Will this replace my Nitro car? No way; I still love the speed and fun I have with it. But this truck is far more convenient and cleaner to run, goes places my other car can’t, and is sufficiently fast to be a ton of fun. If you’re considering getting into RC cars, this may be just what you need. It gives you a good taste of the hobby and provides a good platform for learning, before you dive into the super fast models that are far more expensive. The only downside I see is that there appears to be no way to change transmitter and receiver crystals, so for those of you that want to run 2 of these trucks side by side for races with a friend, you may not be able to do so. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer to see if the transmitter / receiver frequency can be changed before you purchase 2 or more of these. Other than that, I don’t think you can go wrong with this truck. I would recommend it to entry level hobbyists without reservations, and I think that even the experienced folks will find this to be a fun truck to play around with on a smaller course or in your back yard.     • Super fun, but some issues

I have this rc as well as a smaller one with a brushless motor. This would be wicked cool if the motor were brushless, but it's still pretty fast and easier to control offroad then the other one I purchased from these guys. It's definitely not waterproof. The esc started malfunctioning after getting wet. I let it dry for a few days and it hasn't been an issue since. The company also sent me a new esc. I definitely recommend waterproofing it. I also wish there was more protection for all those components inside because the sides of the chassis don't go very high. There is alot of debris that can get into it. Also, the steer tires will rub the cover pretty severely if you don't trim it. More recently the controller has been malfunctioning a bit and it will want to be in reverse instead of neutral. Definitely needs a larger stock battery since you'll only get maybe 30 mins out of it. So all in all it has some small issues, but having the bigger tires and wide stance has been quite fun. ... show more
