As of right now after the second time the RC car was turned on I give a zero star for durability. The car moved about 6 inches and the front wheel snapped and fell off. Requested a replacement. We will see how long the replacement lasts. Has the potential for a great product though. UPDATE!!!! I was sent a replacement immediately and it arrived defective. Before I had the chance to return either cars I received an email from Sylvia checking on the product because of the review. We had a nice conversation and she replaced both of the defective cars with a totally different type of car, upgraded and much better quality so far. A couple of years ago my kid got a remote-controlled truck from a family member for a birthday. It was fun to play with for 10 minutes (which was apparently its battery life), but left us both underwhelmed. It was smaller than we had expected and lacked the get-up-and-go that one would find adequately satisfying. It ended up in a closet never to be charged again. On a recent whim fueled by nostalgia, my kid wanted to play with it to give it another chance. That's when we discovered the remote was lost to the annals of time. I decided to purchase another RC vehicle. This time getting to choose it myself. I came across this listing. The price was right and seemed fair. Not too egregious if our new purchase failed to hold our attention like the other, yet priced to indicate that perhaps the product wouldn't be straight-up landfill either. I was also enamored by how its appearance is reminiscent of the monster trucks I coveted in my childhood. Other features noted on the listing that drove (pun intended) my purchasing decision were the size ("Large," 1:12 scale) as I wanted something bigger than our previous model, it had 4WD (the other only had 2WD), and seemed more rugged with beefy looking shock absorbers and chunky tires. I ordered a blue one and eagerly awaited its arrival. Once delivered, it was indeed larger than our last one, nearly twice the size, and was good-to-go right out of the box. We tested it the same day. I told my kiddo to test it hard, and the truck stood up to the challenge. Things to note: this thing is fast and extremely responsive to the slightest manipulation of controls. We had to really crank the wheel for the last car to turn, but this one only requires small hand movements. The range is excellent. I live at the top of a steep hill on a culdesac, and we had no problem driving the truck 400 ft to the bottom of the hill and back. We even, irresponsibly, drove the truck without visibility down a side street and back. It made it despite obstructions. We slammed it into curbs until it rolled over and then kept slamming until it righted itself due to its oversized tires. Even with all the slamming, the vehicle showed no signs of damage. What I expected to be a 10 minute bonding session with my kid turned into an hour as a result of the incredible battery life. If you've been disappointed by RC cars in the past, I suggest giving this one a try. I believe you will be pleasantly surprised. For future drives, I think I might strap a camera (my phone in a rugged case) to it to record video. I bet that would be neat. Definitely a fun product! Recommended! ... show more

Bought this for my son’s birthday. First time driving, the truck rolled and headlight instantly snapped off. Not a hard roll at all. Luckily I purchased the warranty. Was able to get refunded what I purchased it for. The truck did still work a moment. Two days later, the remote control stopped working. Attempted to fix but to no avail. Bought the vehicle for a second time thinking maybe the first one was faulty. Go to run the new truck for the first time and the headlights just flicker and will not turn. Watched several videos on YouTube and none of the troubleshooting videos worked. Very disappointed and dissatisfied. Now my son is out his birthday gift due to a low quality product. ... show more

1st round on this review. Left & right turn of wheels failed almost instantly. Opened up the access to the motor cogs and found cogs with missing teeth. Have reached out to the seller for replacement parts and waiting to hear back. Lesson learned - - test the unit upon arrival vs waiting almost 2.5 months for grandkids and ending up outside the normal free return window. So, stay tuned. 😏 Revised Update: Croboll rep. reached out to me and are sending a replacement car...to arrive by the 30th. Hopefully it will function without issue. Note - I wasn't requesting a replacement car, just information on how to replace damaged parts. They appear to be serious about achieving a satisfied customer; which is very commendable. ... show more

used by 10yr old and an adult strait out of the box the truck looks good ,the high /low feature is cool,easy to switch off and on and the batteries last as stated even on rough terrain of which it easily moves and flows .The body itself is tough and doesnt move or come off as others have we"ve had, even when our 3yr old lab is chasing and biting at it which adds to the fun factor so it is well constructed.Tried it indoors with various thing on floor aswell as outdoors around trees and bumpy unfinished yard area and it went over all effortously .Lights flicker when battery is running low which helps only thing it could have is an anti roll bar would be a good feature other than that its great fun and good value ... show more

    • Didn't last, difficulty getting warranty satisfaction, even with extended warranty.

My grandson loved it, for 4 months, until it stopped functioning. Now we are trying to get warranty coverage and getting a huge run around. I purchased Asurion extended warranty, but they claim factory warranty is one year so they won't cover it until factory warranty expires. Factory claims warranty is only 60 days, so they won't cover because it's 4 months. Still going back and forth on this time consuming mess, hoping someone will make it right. Will update my review if/when that happens. UPDATE: After 2 hours invested over several days, I will apparently get an Amazon credit, and we are required to box and return ship the car, they will pay for shipping. I will not be buying these type of gifts again. ... show more
