  • Amazing value.
Edition: F4U
Great little learner plane. I just bought my third one. Great crow fighter. I have some expensive planes but not worrying about losing hundreds of dollars makes for a fun flight.

  • Easy, fun, durable, adorable
Edition: F4U
So much fun. Takes a bit of skill to fly, so expect a learning curve, but so worth it. The gyros make it incredibly stable, with the forgiving reactions of a much bigger plane. It's zippy, can handle a light wind, and has skill levels enough to keep it challenging. Fly it over a lot of grass, to give it a nice cushion for when you crash, and you'll be good. I've had it about three weeks and damaged it once on the first day, and again later, but both were minor. There's only one trick to flying it, and that's to partner with the gyros. The beginner/expert switch is a bit like a stick shift, and it helps if it's in the right gear at the right time. You can only break the plane when it's near the ground, so the big hurdle is getting it far away from the ground that very first time. The directions are spot on: I push the throttle to full, throw it almost straight up with my left hand, and quickly switch to beginner mode with my right hand. It immediately snaps into level flight, whatever crazy-ass way you threw it. It's kind of beautiful. I made a few changes to make it a bit more perfect. I wasn't happy with the dull matte finish, so I have it one coat of water-based, clear gloss Minwax Polycrylic. It's more durable as well as prettier. Careful not to glue up the control surfaces. Lose the wheels, they're a waste of time especially on grass, and it's prettier in flight. Lastly I added spare batteries, props, and a USB power bank to the kit. Before and after photos are attached. Go get one of these, you'll love it. ... show more

  • Best Purchase to Date
Man where do I start! This plane is the best purchase I have made to date and it is just amazing. I have flown multiple planes before this one which include the Sport Cub S and UMX MIG-15, but I can say this is a great beginner plane. However she is quite zippy so make sure you have a big open area for your first time because she moves. Next is the durability and man is she a tough nut to crack, I have had multiple crashes with here (all due to cockyness) and the only time when was damaged was when she hit the floor after coming out of a vertical and all that happened was the battery slammed forward and moved the battery compartment and all I did was use some hot glue and she looks good as new now. All and all she is the best plane I have ever flown 100000/10!!!! ... show more

  • Super fun plane
Got this plane about a month ago and let me tell you. This thing is fun/ Flies just like a real warbird, and the two stabilized flight modes are great for beginners. I would get a large area to fly, as the turning radius isn't the best, but these things can go so far. No need to worry about the range on the controller. If you can comfortably see it, then you're all good. ... show more

  • Easy to fly, but wheels and landing gear are terrible
Edition: F4U
I am a beginner in this remote controlled airplane hobby. That being said, the good thing about this plane is that it is challenging enough, yet still easy enough, to keep beginners like me entertained for a long time. The plane flies well and is easy to control in the air. My biggest complaint is with the landing gear/wheels. The wheels on my plane are so stiff that they don't allow the plane to roll or taxi - as I slowly bring the propeller up to speed, instead of rolling the plane simply pivots on the wheels and noses down, causing the propeller to hit the pavement and pop off. I tried everything i could think of - breaking the wheels in by hand, lubing them up. Finally i launched the plane by hand by throwing it in the air. I did have fun flying it! But when it came time to land, as soon as the wheels touched down they locked up and the plane toppled over - those wheels just do not roll! It was so violent that one of the anchors holding the gear into the bottom of the wing ripped out of the styrofoam wing. Now i have no choice but to fly the plane with the gear off - i throw-launch the plane, have fun flying it, and when it's time to land i have to belly down in soft grass as best i can. Long story short - the plane flies and handles great in the air, but because the landing gear is so poor, i cannot recommend anyone else buying this same model, hence my 2-start rating. ... show more

  • Great Entry Level Plane
Edition: F4U
This is a wonderful RC plane. The three modes make it very easy for anybody to fly. I think most of the negative reviews are due to the fact that people try to fly this on expert mode, which is extremely advanced. 99% of people will crash in seconds. Take your time, start on beginner mode, practice, practice, practice. I've been flying for over a month and I'm now comfortable with Intermediate mode. Advance mode is still way above my skill level. The plane is very durable. It can handle serious crashes, nose dives, etc. The propeller is designed to fall off during a crash. Be sure not to move the plane after a crash so that you find the propeller. Leaving the plane on the ground will remind you of where the crash took place. The props are black, so they can be hard to spot on grass. Battery life is awesome. A full 15 minutes of flying. Overall, great plane. Don't believe the bad reviews. ... show more

  • Nice plane but missing screws
Edition: F4U
My son loves the plane however it was missing the little screws to attach the wheels on it. He’s been flying it at the local football field and just landing it on the ground as softly as possible but I can’t locate any small screws that fit the pre-drilled holes.

  • Bargain beginner planes are a joy to fly!
Edition: F4U
I have all 3 of these planes in the eachine/volantex Warbird series (mustang, corsair, Trojan) and they're all a blast to fly. I was amazed at how easy these were after watching a few YouTube videos. I ended up giving this one to my dad because he liked the corsair the best and it does have the coolest design. They're also pretty durable. But if you're just starting out, get yourself some foam safe CA glue and you can easily repair it. Oh extra props too. Even though they pop off to help prevent them breaking, if you try to land on concrete or fly in winds over 7mph you will probably crash a lot. Albert Kim has a video on how to pair this with an opentx radio with multiprotocol. I use my Tango 2 with the mpm. Would strongly recommend! ... show more
