  • Creality Ender 3V3 KE Is a Workhorse of Productivity and Consistency!
I love my Ender 3V3 KE printer! This printer was easy to assemble and setup, and I was off and printing in under an hour! The KE uses a metal probe to level the bed, which has been consistently excellent results. I've run small prints, I've run giant multi-day prints, and everything I throw at this printer comes out awesome. I've owned this printer now for about 4 months, and I'm still using all original hardware and even the consumables like the nozzle, still all new. I only print with TPU and PLA, although I tried a spool of PETG on this printer and it seemed to print ok (there were some pimples on the print, but I feel like that's what you expect from PETG). The filament runout sensor is awesome, and the printer does a top notch job of swapping out the filament on runout and continuing the print. I've done it several times with same brand same color, and you can't even see where the filament change is (even in the case where it ran out overnight, and I didn't restart it for 6+ hours! I have added the aftermarket nebula camera to this printer, and the camera makes this awesome printer even better! The printer has the software onboard to create timelapses, and if you connect it to their cloud service you get additional AI detection like "pasta" or other quality issues like loss of build plate adhesion. This is an awesome printer, at an awesome point of the product line. I really enjoy my Ender 3V3 KE printer, and I recommend it! ... show more

  • Great printer with a few tweaks
Compared to my Ender 3 V2 this printer is a massive upgrade in nearly every way. In a nutshell, this is an incredibly solid printer out of the box that can be assembly and setup in a breeze, and you can easily be printing within 30 minutes. That isn’t to say there aren’t improvements that could be made and a few hiccups along the way, but they aren’t showstoppers and with a bit of optional tweaking, you can really get an incredibly dialed in printer. It should be noted that to get the max 500mm/s print speed, you really need to be using a high-speed filament, so if you have regular filament you’re going to want to create a significantly slower (compared to 500mm/s) profile in the slicer, more around 120mm/s range for outer walls, then you can jump it to 200-300mm/s for the inners. Remember, in speed you sacrifice quality and strength. Pros - Impressive print speed - Includes filament runout sensor - Auto bed leveling - Auto z-offset (though can run a touch too close but can be adjusted) - Fairly quiet during print operations - Internal wires are ferrule crimped connectors into the mainboard - Can easily print extremely tight tolerances for better fitting parts - Seems odd, but it’s nice the power button is on the side versus the back - Packaged very well, my box came split open on the side, but because of the solidly packed foam, there was no damage to the printer. Cons - Manual is not great for setting up, if you’re not experienced, I’d suggest watching one of the many video’s on YouTube before getting it and if needed, while you assemble. - The wifi is extremely chatty on your network, ensure to read how and what data Creality will be collecting while connecting to their Creality Cloud online print management software. - The speed on this printer is incredibly impressive when using high speed filament types, however the filament holder mounted on the top of the printer causes the gantry to wobble like crazy. Changing the location of the filament roll or putting it above and not attached to the printer helps significantly. - Locked into Creality’s slicer and web UI unless you root (it’s a pro they allow you to root) - Auto bed level is great, but the initial bed mesh had a pretty significant range difference, tightening the bed screws did a bit to help but other third-party adjustments made it better. - Mine came with what seems to be missing clip that goes over the cables to the bed, it’s not a big deal but looks unfinished. Other - Personal preference, I don’t like textured plates all that much, it would be nice if it had multiple plates with it. - Since the KE supports Klipper, Creality could have included the $10-15 ADXL345 vibration compensation sensor for additional tuning. - Printer shipped with firmware version 1.1.0.9 which has a few known issues on first layer, upgraded to v1.1.0.12 and had zero issues. Potential Upgrades - Replace the solid bed mounts with silicone or springs for a more even bed mesh - Use an M5 bolt to mount the filament run out sensor (that is on a swivel) to one of the top filament mount holes - Root and install Moonraker and Mainsail for a better UI and configuration experience as well as access to the printer.cfg file used by Klipper for configuration settings. Careful, there has been poor experiences in rooting, then upgrading your firmware that has bricked the interface and takes some work to unbrick. - Add linear rails to the Y-axis, there are tutorials, the benefits are a stronger smoother bed sliding experience, but I haven’t yet seen the need. ... show more

  • Impressive
The media could not be loaded. I’m about a year into 3d printing, so I’m not completely new nor an expert. I have two other AnyCubic brand FDM 3d printers, but I have been really impressed with this Creality 3d printer. The assembly is straight forward and you can easily be printing the included boat model in less than an hour. It does come with a printed instruction manual, but I always find it helpful to watch a video on the process beforehand, which is available for this printer as well. In addition to the easy of assembly there are lots to like with this little printer. The speed, auto bed leveling, removable build plate, filament detection and color touch screen are just a few. If you are new to 3d printing, you may not know that you need a slicer program. Slicer programs take your models (stl’s) and “slices” them into files (gcode) that can be printed. Learning the slicer programs can be the hardest part of 3d printing, and can be a huge learning curve. Creality has their own slicer software called Creality Print, which seems to be based on one of the major slicers, Cura, and what I use for my AnyCubic printers. This is an area of confusion for me because from the research I’ve done, it sounded like you were pretty much locked into using Creality’s slicer. In the manual on the other had, it indicates Cura 5 and later are compatible. So far I haven’t seen where Creality has created default config files to load into Cura, so for now, I’m using their slicer. In testing, I did take a few STL’s I had, opened and sliced them with the default settings, and got very good print results (see pic). Another thing I really like is the WiFi capabilities. You don’t have to manually put your gcode print files on a USB thumb drive and manually copy to the printer to print. With their slicer, I was able to print directly from my PC using WiFi. You can also monitor the job from your PC or with their app. All in all, I highly recommend this printer regardless of whether you are a newbie looking for your first, or just wanting to add or replace one of your existing printers. ... show more
