  • WORKS FABULOUSLY!!
I have hard, clay soil that was so compacted nothing would grow (except annoying clover weeds). This machine is fantastic! After watering the soil a little bit, this tiller easily loosened the soil and pulled up those pesky clover weeds in my back and front yards within minutes. Very easy to use, lots of power (and doesn't throw rocks - huge bonus!), battery life is perfect and it's easy to carry. Only suggestion is to make sure you buy the matching charger separately, as it does not come with one. Battery charges fast though! I'm thrilled! ... show more

  • Actually suprised on how good it is
Almost nothing to put together when you get it. It works amazingly. It does seem to clog somewhat easy with grasses but its easy to pop blades off and just push it off and put back on. Its not too heavy or to light to use. Seems very durable and had no problem with my dewalt batteries

  • Impressed .... But....
First time use review. For those that down rated it because it did not come with a battery.... the product description and instructions clearly state that it does not come with a battery! Ya gotta read the description! Works with a Dewalt 20v Max battery that does not come with it ... but I am repeating myself. As a retired product designer, it is well made and easy to use. Easy to assemble, heavy which makes it dig up dirt easily. Only one fault. The three battery contacts can get bent easily and hence will not allow the battery to fully engage. And therefore the device will not work. Dewalt contacts are almost fully supported along their length so they are less likely to bend, the tiller's blades fully hang out in the air and if the battery is not correctly aligned, the contact blades will bend. They can be straightened with a pair of needle nosed pliers. Don't ask me how I know this :-) When using, I let it walk forward a foot or so and then slowly pull it back letting it churn up my partial clay/sand soil quickly. Does a good job. If working around plants with established roots, the smaller roots will get cut off and wind around the tangs, so they will need to be removed to allow each tang to cut efficiently. Bottom line, I like it and glad I got it. Makes gardening a whole lot easier. ... show more

  • Sweet
Tough little tiller. Used in my raised garden beds. Rips right through. Easy to take the tines off to clear roots after tangling up. Doesn't slow down the tool though. If you're already invested in Dewalt, and need a decent, small tiller, this works great.

  • Works well for beach weeds
This product is light weight and easy to use. It was perfect for removing beach weeds along the shore line. I definitely would recommend this product.

  • broke on second use
This worked really well the first time but broke almost immediately the second time i used it. I wasn’t over using it in bad terrain either, just tilling up a previously used garden bed.

  • Just what I needed!
I was given iris plants and didn’t know how I was going to dig our very dry dirt! We’ll I ordered this and it worked great! I’m 77 years old and if I can handle it anyone can! Great buy! Definitely worth the money!

  • Not bad, better than expected
This review is based on out-of-the-box performance, we’ll see about longevity. The tiller is a little heavier than expected and that’s a good thing as it doesn’t bounce around too much on hard-packed soil. Just go slow. The rpm is faster than expected but not too objectionable. My DeWalt battery fit perfectly and a 6 AH 20 volt was only down about a third after about an hour in the garden. The tiller tongs are a good size, are well spaced, appear to be relatively hard steel, and appear to survive small stones just fine. I wish it had a reverse rotation in order to unwind roots and stuff from the tiller head. The shaft length is good for both me (5’9) and my wife (5’6) and the handle on the shaft is adjustable. I elected to leave the tiller guard/shield off because it’s easier to see the tongs before getting too close to plants and obstructions. The trigger lock is always objectionable on these tools (thank you product liability lawyers) but this one can be managed (although I will probably bi-pass it). For the price, so far this appears to be a good purchase. ... show more
