    • My wife laughed at me for buying a pillow that costs this much, now she's ALWAYS stealing it!
I WRECKED my neck on a pillow I purchased from a big box store. It was an unbearable neck pain that lasted two weeks and cost me more in massages, chiropractor appointments and loss of productivity than the cost of the Coop Homes Eden. Tired of going cheap on pillows that either end up doing physical harm to me or just losing their support after a week, I decided to look for something better (considering 1/3 of my day is spent sleeping investing in my comfort seemed like a good idea.) I came across this pillow, read the reviews and decided to give it a shot (it also comes with a 100 night guarantee.) When the pillow arrived, I stuffed it to my liking and slept on it that same night. It only took one night to see that this pillow is a worthwhile investment. My head was perfectly supported, no aches in the morning and it stayed perfectly cool through the night. At the time of writing this review, I have been using this pillow for about 3 months and I still feel the same as I did the first night I used it. Cool features: - pillow comes stuffed with shredded memory foam PLUS a huge bag of that shredded foam to add more firmness. I personally, added very little to mine and it was perfect. - the included pillowcase is amazing. Don't cover it, you can wash it like a normal pillowcase. The bamboo-derived fabric is soft, comfortable and won't make you sweat at night. - humanely made AND it's made in the US, which both points are fantastic. There HAS to be a drawback to this pillow, right? Well, there is, and that is the smell of the pilot's shredded foam when you get it. The manufacturer knows this and gives instructions on how to air it out. I received mine in the evening and didn't have time to air it out. The smell was fierce, no doubt, but I slept on it fine with no headaches or problems sleeping because of the smell. After a day or two the smell when away on its own. One might think the price is a drawback, my wife did at first, but a nice pillow is worth an investment (just like a mattress or a good pair of shoes.) After stealing my pillow here and there, my wife completely agrees with me now, too! So if this pillow can convince my frugal wife of its value, I'm sure you'll you will too. If you're thinking about this pillow, give it a shot! If you're on the "buy whatever cheap pillow [some store] has on the shelf" mode, then you will immediately feel a difference with this pillow.     • I've been searching for a pillow like this for a long time
I was involved in an accident 23 years ago that left me with problems in my back, neck, shoulders, etc. I had one cervical spinal fusion that helped for a short time. After that, every surgeon I saw, and I saw some of the best on the East Coast, said there was nothing more that could be done. No matter what I tried for relief nothing helped. Sleep became a chimera. I began to dread bedtime. I bought a high end mattress that helped a good bit but I had an especially hard time finding a comfortable pillow. I had one cervical pillow that was good but it wore out and by that time the maker had changed the design. The new one was no good. Over the years, I have assembled a collection of pillows that could fill the Smithsonian. For the past 2 years or so I've been sleeping on a "D" pillow, the one with a border of varying width to support the neck and a low spot in the center for your head. I never slept really well on it but it was better than the previous pillows I tried. After a while I found myself searching for a comfortable spot along one of the edges, which had become impossible recently. I was waking up all night after short intervals of pseudo-sleep. I woke up one night at around 2:30 am once again. I was so uncomfortable I was unable to remain in bed so I got up and started searching the internet for pillows. I found three that interested me and finally settled on the Coop Home Goods Eden pillow because of the fill, the ability to adjust the amount of fill and the gusseted edge. The fill in this pillow is really fantastic. It's very soft but very supportive. I find it does exactly what I wanted the "D" pillow to do; it supports my neck and head very well (I LOVE the gusseted edge!) yet it's soft and comfortable at the same time. My head sinks into the pillow and it feels just right. The trick for me was to get the amount of fill just right. I experimented removing and refilling the it every night for about a week until I dialed it in just right. Only one week! Like I mentioned above, it usually takes me far longer to get used to a new pillow, if ever! Now, I just tuck the pillow under my neck when back-sleeping and the support is there, so firm yet so soft and so comfortable - I'm able to fall asleep more quickly and sleep for longer periods. I love side-sleeping with this pillow too. I rough it up a bit and bunch it under the side of my neck and head and I'm the most comfortable I've been sleeping on my side in years. I still can't sleep on either side for too long because the arm I'm lying on will go totally numb after about half an hour or so and I have to return to my back. But this pillow allows me enough time on my sides to get off my back for a while and that really helps me sleep longer and I wake up fewer times during the night now too. You have to follow the instructions when you open the pillow. I put mine in a cool drier for 10 minutes as instructed. I had absolutely no problem with odors and the loft plumped up beautifully. Then, for me, the only thing I had to do was get the fill level right. Like I said, it only took me about a week of experimentation. I also opted for the gusseted pillow covers which fit very well and don't change the dynamics of the inner pillow at all, unlike some others I've tried. Bottom line; I've been looking for a pillow like this for years. Nothing is ever going to get me a perfect night's sleep again but I'm getting better sleep for longer periods now. It's only been just a short time since I purchased the pillow but based on how quickly I became accustomed to it and how comfortable it's been so far, I think this Coop Home Goods Eden pillow is the one I've been searching for for these past 23 years.
