We did not have to remove any filling because the pillows felt very comfortable as is. Decent quality and filling. It’s not too thick or thin. One side is cooling with a silky feel and the other is soft. My 7 yr old son likes it. He gets hot and wanted a cooling pillow. Most of those are super expensive or so thick his neck and head are at an odd angle. I didn’t want that and this is the right thickness for support. It did smell a bit funny out of the packaging and it had to ‘inflate’ a bit. It is kinda small though. It’s really a toddler size for about a 3 yr old IMO. Still works. ... show more

These pillows are absolutely worth the money!!! My husband is loving his just as it is! Nice and firm but forming to his head and neck, plus the added benefit of the cooling!! I had to take a little bit of the filling out of mine so make it less firm. It was easily done with the easy access point of the zippers. And I love the fact that should I decide I want to have it more firm later on, I can add it back in (saved my fill in a shopping bag, tied up and stored away). Another great benefit is the filling is in a separate pillow cover so should the pillow need to be washed, the outer cover can be taken off, washed and bam! No big bulky pillows in the washing machine! We have had our pillows since early September and we never go anywhere without them! Hope this hopes someone. ... show more
