This pillow has been a game changer for my sleep scores. I tried several pillows from Amazon, Walmart, BB&B, etc, only to be disappointed that the pillow listed as "firm" was not. I can assure you; this one definitely is and has a density to it that I was desperately searching for. When I put my head down at night, I don't want the pillow to sink down and I don't want to have to work at rearranging it. This one keeps your head in place. While being firm tough, it also manages to achieve a softness that allows you to fall asleep almost immediately. I now spend very little time fluffing up the pillow or flipping it over for coolness. The pillow comes in a cleverly designed zippered pouch and all you do is release it and let it fluff up for a few hours. A nice touch is the handwritten note from the owner of the company assuring that if you have any questions or concerns to call them directly with a phone number listed! I don't ever recall seeing anything like that from the thousands of products I've purchased on line. That gave me assurance that the quality of production and standards would be there - and they most certainly are! To be short, these pillows don’t feel like a high quality memory foam. I bought a high quality memory foam pillow from somewhere else and I can *really* feel the differences if I compare side by side... These pillows for one are so heavy! I swear I’ve never had a heavier pillow- there would be no way you could maybe pack in into a bag and carry them for long if you needed too. I swear they make a “thud” sound when I throw them into the bed. I don’t know if that this has much to do with the immediate quality, but it’s a curious feature of these pillows. They also have less squish than my other memory foam. They seem stiffer, and bounce back much faster. For a side-sleeper like me we need that kind of support, but back/belly sleepers won’t be happy with the thick and structured nature of these pillows. The memory foam just doesn’t seem to have enough give for me to feel truly relaxed to be honest. The “lumpiness” factor that I see in other comments about this product is present, but not enough for me to literally lose sleep over. It’s gotten much better with regular use and when I rest my head on them I don’t notice a thing. The smell- yep- there is a very distinct smell. I fluffed them up and let them sit for several days flipping them occasionally and the smell never fully went away. Actually, when I cuddle up to these pillows I can still smell a hint of it and I’ve had these pillows for months now. It’s not a pleasant smell- it’s like what you’d think factory foam would smell like. Rubbery, is what i’d describe it as. So, enough complains- the pros. For one, the price is much better than what I paid for my other memory foam pillows. I got two for a fraction of the cost. When I compare all the cons, I can see passed the flaws. I often grab these pillows and not notice a difference on many nights. So if you’re not picky, these might be the way to go. I genuinely don't understand the 5 star reviews. I have exclusively used bamboo pillows for several years now. I was trying to replace my last one and ordered these as they look identical & the reviews sounded like the way I rave about my current pillow. Only, I received these pillows and they are lumpy and awful. It feels like someone shredded a bunch of foam and just threw it in the pillow. It's been 24 hours and they will not hold shape. They look like a pillow that's been thrown into the wash them dryer and got so messed up it can never be used again. I'm so disappointed. I did process a return/refund but, now I'm too nervous to purchase any other kind of bamboo pillow on Amazon. Guess I'll use my refund for something else and will buy these pillows in a physical store from now on. Such a huge disappointment. These reviews really let me down this time. ... show more
