I purchased the "12 Pack Basswood Sheets for Crafts-12 x 12 x 1/8 Inch- 3mm Thick Plywood" for the purpose of cutting with my diode, tabletop laser for some crafty projects to sell and gift. I've used Lauan plywood in the past, but was looking for something thinner (3mm vs 5mm) and harder/denser. I've seen plenty of reviews for different items stating that the boards they purchased were not flat, and that was a primary concern for me. My laser head sits close to the material, and anytime there is much variance in product height there is a chance the laser head will drag or move the product, resulting in wasted time and product. The plywood I received was without blemishes, and flat. What more can I say? After cutting the plywood I do see that there is sometimes warpage in the material. But it was flat when I received it, and also when I put it on my grid to cut. I don't think it's humidity. What happens, I believe, is that the material heats up from the laser (more in some places than others) and it warps slightly from that. Remember, it is layers glued together. I've cut out a large (nearly 12" x 12") monogram, and afterwards it had zero warpage. When I have done Christmas tree ornaments with a lot of detailed close cuts I see slight warpage, but nothing that has been noticed by others. I hope this is helpful! ... show more

I have already ordered a bigger pack of this wood for more projects. The wood cuts well on my Atezr 10W laser and looks good when i finish it with paint or stain. It did have a piece that was decently warped but i used magnets for my laser bed to hold it flat and it was still usable.

I have been using this wood for my laser burning projects. The picture is of a phone holder, and the laser engraves designs on this wood very well, as well as cuts through the wood well. It did not take me very long at all to figure out the right settings for cutting and engraving on this material. All of the wood pieces were identical in width as well as in length and height, and with all of the pieces that I have cut, I have not found any voids or gaps in the wood. I have bought this before last year with zero issues, but this I just received last week has been awful quality. There are so many pockets of glue that will not cut through, and many of the pieces were warped. I’ve been through five sheets so far and not one has given me clean cuts.
