I’ve had this for ages. I just bought my son one and he loves it. It’s quick, easy, and heats water to a boil in about a minute or less. Capacity is big enough for several cups of hot tea, my use of it. Son uses it for instant oatmeal and grits. It’s not a pretty kettle, but it isn’t ugly. Its price makes it gorgeous!!! See through panel to see amount of water and when it is about to boil. Once you get used to it, the sound will alert you to when it’s about to boil. For hot tea, you don’t want it to boil, just shy of that. Please unplug after use. Let it cool before storing it. And DO NOT TOUCH it once it’s plugged in—it will get HOT very fast! So far I love this. I used to have a glass electric kettle with plastic parts and I like the stainless steel better. It heats up way faster and you can easily tell where your fill line is. I like that it has a built in strainer that you can take out to clean. I will say that when it’s about halfway through heating up it’s a bit loud, it kind of sounds like a muffled hair dryer, but the sound goes away after like 30 seconds. ... show more

1st impressions. Works great. Heats quickly. 1st glass kettle we've owned, and it is fun to watch cold water progress to a boil. The kettle has a temperature readout as it progresses toward boil or preset, and it also reads as it cools toward auto shutoff. In a two person household it gets used 4-8 times a day for pour-over coffee and various teas. The preset selection process is NOT intuitive. It is easy if you read the instructions and press the "keep warm" button once before selecting a temp; twice if you want it to hold the temp once it is reached. A stainless steel electric kettle that failed after several years of use was a pain to fit back on the center probe of the base. This kettle easily marries with the base. If this one lasts as long as our previous kettle, it will be money well spent. ... show more

I use this product for boiling water for tea.. i like the fact that i have control over the temperature; highest temp is 212 °f. for esthetics, it has a nice blue light when the heating coil is on inside. so far i've been using the glass tea kettle for a few long months every day multiple times a day. i would say it can and will withstand the test of time. no problems here with my kettle. its safe to use and its not sketchy when or if the bottom gets wet a little it doesn't seem to be an issue when put back down on the saucer for connection to electricity. modern design and up to date. i had another electric water kettle boiler and it had no temp control so i basically settle with this one.. i always make tea at 212° and or hot chocolate and or ramen noodles. but i still like the fact that i have some control to lower the highest temp available. what ever .. this is the one i picked.. the only thing i didn't mess around with was the keep warm feature i had no desire to use it. but like i said it has a lot of digital features packed into this electric kettle. there are options! u are not restricted to one setting. which is why i again picked this one. have a great day and enjoy your tea i hope u have a good tea cup. and also don't' forget to purify your water i use "PURR" faucet water filter just so i don't' have to bare the elements of tap water. thanks again -ks ... show more

This is great, especially because I have a kid who lives off from a noodles. As if eating ramen noodles once a day isn't bad enough, I'm sure microwaving a plastic bowl is the icing on the cake. I also enjoy a cup of tea at night, but sometimes I'm really lazy and I won't drink one just because I don't want to heat up water. This is literally so easy. I love that it lights up blue. And my favorite part is that once it's done boiling it automatically turns off. This is great for my preteen daughter as she also enjoys making hot chocolate or tea or soup! A great option that in my opinion is safer than the microwave since she's lit the microwave on fire three times in the past year. I do unplug it when I'm done for extra safety. But yeah it's the perfect size. When I'm putting water in just for my son's soup it literally heats it up faster than 3 minutes. It would take in the microwave. I highly recommend this product.
