One of the reviews I read mentioned that it was difficult to put the kettle on it's base - that has not been not my experience. This kettle works exactly as other similar ones, you just set it over the base and it goes right on easily and with zero problems. One thing that is not too important (for me at least) but FYI - it is not an infinite selection of temperatures. The rotating dial might lead you to think this... The options are (in F°): 104°, 113°, 122°, 131°, 140°, 149°, 158°, 167°, 176°, 185°, 194°, 203°, 212° (using the dial) or 195°, 200°, and 205° using the preset temp button. In practice, here is how I use it: Press power on and the set temperature is always at the default 212°. Press the preset button and then turn the knob to select between 195°, 200°, or 205°. After you have selected one of these three preset temperatures, that is the default preset the next time and every time thereafter that you push this button unless you change it. So, after you have picked your preset temperature, you can just hit power on, hit preset once, then power again to start the kettle and away you go. Cool having the base show both the current temp and the set temp displayed at the same time so you can see status at a glance. There is also a little completion bar along the bottom that grows as it gets closer to full temp. Copper color / buttons are a bit bright/shiny but that is pure personal preference. The lid is plastic (the rest of the kettle is metal except for the handle for insulation) but it looks the same as the kettle and doesn't touch the water other than some condensation so having a plastic lid is definitely not an issue for me. Highly recommend if you are looking for a gooseneck kettle. Best Black Friday deal yet. I love the glass kettle and how fast it boils water. The blue lights are way cool and I love the auto shut off feature. The water still remains hot for a while, but sometimes I get distracted by a call or someone stopping by and I don't have to worry about it boiling dry. This kettle is good. It heats fast & has a stainless steel interior. It was also easy to clean. My only issue is that it doesn’t have measurements inside only a min & max. I like to fill about 1L in the morning & it is good enough water for the whole family. My old electric kettle had it & really miss having that. I now have to measure it out prior to filling the kettle. Thats the reason for 4stars. Otherwise it seems durable & no smell when it was new or after heating the water. ... show more

I have purchased larger electric kettles in the past and a have found that they don’t last. This one is perfect for my needs and the price is exceptional! It holds just over 4 cups of water, heats quickly and looks great on the counter. The base is a little light but it works without issue. I particularly like that it is easy on my wrist when holding the kettle. It’s a little more awkward to pour water into the kettle than my old one as the lid doesn’t open to a complete 90 degree angle but still not a problem overall. I also like that it uses less amps than most kettles which means that if you have several kitchen counter appliances on same circuit, it is less likely to trip the GFCI. ... show more

I like the look of it . I got the black one. I can fit about 55oz in it. Heats fast. I like the rotating base i don't really like the spout as it doesn't come out in a good stream I keep making a mess but it's minor. I will figure out the correct pour position eventually lol I use it to heat ramen cups for my work thermos and for tea so far. Very pleased with my purchase. I wish I could make it a tad hotter but as far as I can tell that's not an option but it's not like I need to scald my throat lol I'd purchase it again but it appears to be great quality so hoping I won't need to for a long time ... show more

This kettle is a nice upgrade from my old one that went bad. It looks nice and functions great! The temp is easy to set, you also set and hold the temp if you need and the gooseneck pour for my pour overs is very precise!
