  • Fast heating and small size
Color: Glass Size: 1.1 Quarts
I asked for this item for my birthday and love it. I have a small kitchen so I did not want anything larger than one liter. Man, is it fast! The water comes to a full rolling boil in no time. Looks great and you can tell when it is finished just with a glance since the blue light goes off. Bought one as a Christmas gift for a serial tea drinker! ... show more

  • Great for the Office
Color: Glass Size: 1.1 Quarts
I bought 2 of these, one for my mom and one for me. We both work at different offices and wanted to be able to enjoy hot chocolate at work. Since these kettles are made to boil water, they work great because we can set them up at our desk (the chord is too short to reach my desk, so I have to put it on the floor) and boil water as needed. A 16 oz water bottle fills it up to the minimum line and is the perfect amount for my travel COPCO mug. Unlike the box says, I wouldn't say that it's "faster than a microwave" but it's certainly better, hotter, and a safer alternative. No danger of water boiling out of the cup or of hot spots with this kettle. The water is always boiling hot and it has an automatic shut-off. Once the unit recognizes the water is hot, it shuts off with an audible "click" and the led lighting system shuts off. It's so easy to clean, that if needed I could do it at the office. It's very convenient and my mom and I are loving them. I do always give my hot chocolate several minutes to cool down after preparing it because the water is so boiling hot. If you don't wait, there is a danger of burning your tongue. That can be said for any hot beverage. This kettle certainly removes the travel time it takes to find a place that sells hot chocolate. I can see myself using this product until it breaks and then ordering a new one. I absolutely love it. Just don't drink the leftover boiled water, not a great taste. (Little side note... I hope that Amazon accepts this review because it says I haven't received them yet, when I have? I think someone must've forgot to mark that they delivered the package.) ... show more

  • Great product!
Color: Glass Size: 1.1 Quarts
The whole family loves it. Just the right size and boils water so fast. And it looks so high tech with the little blue lights.

  • Very well designed. A delight.
Color: Glass Size: 1.1 Quarts
Lots of little features that show there was someone really smart working on the design of this product. E.g., the top of the carafe, when opened fully, clicks and stays open ... when you first take this out of the box the cord must be unwrapped from inside the base, but you can easily choose to unwrap it to either a 12” or 24” length, whichever works for you. All-glass carafe which, as far as I can tell, is somehow annealed to the stainless heating base without any noticeable exposure to plastic or sealant. The top of the carafe is plastic, rather like a typical coffee maker, meaning there is minimal contact with plastic. A filter pops down when the carafe lid is lowered (a nylon-type mesh with a plastic rim), in case the (typical/normal) lime deposits happen to flake off when you pour. The carafe’s opening is just wide enough to get your hand inside (except if you have a huge hand) for cleaning. It should ONLY be used to boil water. Minimum mark is 0.5 L, max is 1.0 L. I suspect I will be trying it with less than 0.5L (don’t tell anyone) since it has an automatic shutoff mechanism if it boils dry ... which should never happen anyway because about 10 seconds after it reaches maximum boil it shuts itself off. To boil 0.7L of water to a full boil took 2-3/4 minutes. The huge advantage is that with a glass carafe you can see and stop it when it reaches an early boil if you wish, e.g. for tea, rather than buying a much more expensive hotpot where you specify the end-point temperature. The small base can remain plugged in when you lift off the carafe to pour the hot water. The carafe’s design is very nice; blue LED light comes on while it is heating up, shuts off when it reaches a boil. I guess they figured we have enough beeps in our kitchens already, this has no beep to signal it’s done — only shortcoming if that’s an issue; I find it boils so quickly that it gives me just enough time to get a mug, prep A french press with coffee, etc that I don’t mind. Note, this is ETL listed. Says very emphatically, “do not immerse in water” so certainly no dishwashing either — not a problem as I can see. Shouldn’t use abrasive cleaners on it; if lime/calcium deposits occur from your water supply, run IT with a bit of vinegar or cream of tartar. Manual says you should unplug this when not in use, perhaps because it’s fairly easy to hit the “power on” lever which is on the bottom of the carafe’s handle. Handle stays perfectly cool even with repeated use, but of course the glass is as hot as whatever is behind it. White markings are only on one side of the carafe, a negative point if you hold it in left hand while filling (I would take a sharpie and carefully draw three little dots...) One reviewer complained you need to squeeze two tabs to open top of pot... note, that is not needed when pouring only when refilling pitcher, and I have found it not to be too big a problem, no different than every tea kettle or hot pot I have ever had. I bought this not because I needed it, but because using this will somewhat reduce my carbon footprint, for daily teas and coffees, also if I use it to quickly boil water for cooking (pour the boiling water into a pot on stove, can’t cook in this thing) and it’s faster than a gas stove too. A sort of first step before the expensive plunge into induction cookware. Regardless of why you buy this, if you’re the sort of person who takes delight in nicely designed, styled, and functional items, you’re going to like this. If I encounter any flaws or problems, I will return and edit this, so if you find no notes below it means it’s still working well without problems for me. ... show more

  • Perfect
Color: Glass Size: 1.1 Quarts
Got this to replace the Mueller electric tea kettle that started to malfunction. It's smaller than most of the electric tea kettles, so it takes a bit less space on the countertop, which is exactly what I wanted. Still heats up between 1/2 to one liter of water, very very fast. So far, electric shut off is working properly. Has all the features I was looking for, at just about the right size. Recommended. ... show more

  • A godsend for the elderly (and the younger who burn out saucepans)
Color: Glass Size: 1.1 Quarts
A very convenient way to remove a worry about burning out a saucepan when boiling water, as I hear most of us have done at any age, but particularly useful when you are your 80s and no longer good at multitasking, or get easily distracted when multitasking (phone rings etc) like me. I learned about this from my kids with whom I was staying, and now in my new apartment have one of my own. The separate single round heating disk that can plug in on any counter with a proper kitchen outlet frees up stove space. I've put mine across the kitchen, which also frees up counter space. But most of all you can set water to boil and freely pop into another room for a minute without worrying that anything will boil dry because it automatically turns off when the water is at boiling. If you are delayed and the water has cooled down somewhat, you can easily turn it on again briefly to the bring the water back to the boil. You can also turn it off manually if you want less than a rolling boil (for coffee for example). ... show more
