The initial heating of the water (per the instructions) smelled HORRIBLE. I guess thats why they tell you to do it twice prior using it. After that, the third time (to actually use the water) WAS GREAT! It was quick, easy, and did what its intended. Water was perfect temperature. Super light weight.

This electric kettle meets all my needs. Not only does it look great with those cool blue LED's inside the pot, it has a very well placed handle to help when pouring. The best feature is how fast water comes to a boil when compared to my previous kettle. The kettle does collect a layer of calcium on the inside, but a teaspoon or two of citric acid quickly cleans out that crust. I bought the purple kettle and it is very pretty and the kettle works great. It heats to a rolling boil pretty quickly and I really like how the kettle turns itself off automatically. Great price too. Highly recommend.

We love that it turns blue as it is heating up and the light goes off after it has boiled. It heats quickly, about 5-7 minutes depending on how much water is in it. It's a bit heavy for my mother when it's full, but she will usually only heat a cup of water for tea for herself. The cord length is very good, the base is sturdy and the kettle removes easily from it. I wish the cover opened a bit more for filling, it's a bit awkward to fill at the refrigerator. We really like it and use it a lot. It doesn’t heat up super quick, but quick enough. I do wish it would stay lit up blue when it’s done, but the light shuts off once it stops boiling. I feel it should stay blue till it cools off. I like the size and the color. Be sure to read the owners manual. It says you shouldn’t use tap water. We use bottled water in ours. You also can’t wash the kettle in the sink, but you should be able to wash out the inside with soap and water. ... show more
