  • Actual top speed on smooth flat surface is 22-24mph.
Style: Mate Standard
I never had a scooter before this one, so nothing to compare to. This gad great features, which I will miss. The Bluetooth app, folding handle bars , nice horn, light and turn indicators. I bought the scooter strictly for commuting , which included folding it and carrying it onto a train and some stairs. I will say this scooter was perfect for that. Easy to fold and fairly easy to carry with one arm up a few steps onto the train. Total round trip miles on it per day was about 5-6 miles and that would use 2 out of 6 bars on the battery, always in turbo gear 3 mode. All in all I thought it was a very solid, well built scooter with great features unfortunately I had to return it after only 3 weeks for a few reasons. 1) the control buttons on the handle bars stopped working, horn, head and tail lights, speed modes and the display mode,( kph or mph) etc. I left my house in the dark each morning, thankfully it came with an app to connect via Bluetooth which allowed me to have control of all those things, But I should not have had to get my phone out each morning and connect to the scooter just to turn the head light on or change the top speed. The horn just stopped working all together , I found the horn was important. 2) the top speed is advertised at 28mph. I only hit that speed going down a very steep hill. The actual speed is 22-24 mph on a perfectly smooth and flat road. I probably would have settled for 24mph as a top speed, but more than not it only went 22 mph which really isn't fast enough for me to enjoy , expecally knowing I paid for a 28mph scooter. Add that to the electronic buttons ceasing to operate within 2 weeks, I opted to return it before the 30 days went by. I think it's great that they have a 30 day return policy and honored it. Hopefully that goes well and I see my refund soon. I did lots of research on ebikes and escooters and I did expect discrepancies in the advertised speed and battery life, but not a 6 mph lower top speed and a lot less up hill. On small inclines it only went 19-20 and on steeper hills , down to 11-12 and barely made it, that is with plenty of charge as well. To be fair I am 220lbs but this scooter, for only having 1 800 watt motor, really got up and went up to the top speed of 22-24 mph , so to me. It should have went to 28 on a flat road. The hill problem is probably the same on any single 800 watt motor scooter. But between that and controls stopping to work, I figured my best bet was to return it and try again with another model. My advice is to buy one with 2 motors, (front and back wheels ) and keep the battery AH rating small if you don't have a long ride to keep the weight of the scooter manageable. Great scooter, maybe I just got a lemon. 3 stars for the problems. ... show more

  • Revised again for improved product support
Style: Mate Standard
11/20/2022: Revising back up to 4 stars for improved handling of the return. The seller contacted me through Amazon and made both an effort to replace the scooter AND offered a compensatory gift. While I didn’t feel the gift was necessary, I did ask for a refund, which was processed immediately. In speaking with them several times over the course of a few days it was clear that they do care about their product and the satisfaction of the customer. Not sure what happened with my support request through their website, but support through Amazon was outstanding. I decided to look at ebikes instead of scooters, but if I were to go back to scooters, I would look at Circooter first. 11/16/2022: Revising down to 2 stars. Only ONE day after receipt, the scooter stops immediately after pushing the accelerator with an E16 error. According to the manual that is a motor fault. Also not consistently keeping the bluetooth connection with the app. Used the support portal at www.circooter.com to request support. Never heard from them. UPS just picked it up for return. No support = no customers. What’s excellent: • SOLID design and build. • Quick fold and lock of the center column AND the handlebars. • Adjustable handlebar height • Bright headlight well positioned • Directionals and Under-glow lights • Wide, comfortable deck • Zero assembly. (I don’t consider attaching the bag assembly) • Torquey 800W motor handles most hills adequately • Cruise control?!? • Robust charging port • App has a lot of features The Weak: • Despite powerful 800W motor, it couldn’t even carry my 190# self up a 15% grade, much less a 20-25% grade as advertised. Maybe a 150# person could’ve done it @ 3 mph, but for me, it quit after about 150 meters. • Battery only lasted about lasted about 6 miles (again, 190#, turbo mode, and a fair number of hills. Although I *needed* turbo for the hills) • Spaghetti-mess of wires on the handlebars is ugly and could snag a branch. Needs wrapped. • Suspension is really stiff. You feel everything and I can see rattle fatigue being an issue on longer or bumpy tides. • Display is very low-resolution. Looks like a refugee from like 2010. Smaller numbers are hard to read—especially while in motion. • Rear kickstand isn’t super stable and scrapes when going over rocks and curbs. This scooter definitely offers a pretty substantial upgrade to the 350W (mfr. claimed 540W peak) scooter I had before. I live in SoCal and hills are a fact of life, but this scooter easily handled most of the hills in my neighborhood, only dropping to 10mph in turbo mode on a 6% grade. Not so great on the really steep 15% hill, but fortunately it’s not one I travel frequently anyway. Not thrilled with the display, but it’s functional. Guess I could strap my phone to it if I really want a nice display. I’m primarily using it to run my dog a bit more, so it more than meets my needs. But I think if I were shopping for something that I would use more off-road, or even for a longer distances, I would definitely look at scooters with at least 1000W motors. Or maybe 800W at each wheel. ... show more

  • Great specs for the money, but not a quality scooter.
Style: Mate Standard
I bought this scooter for the promise of 28mph, cool lights, a decent battery, and a low price for the specs. All-in-all, it was an okay scooter for the price. It is fast, but tops out about 25mph. Even going downhill I only got to 27mph. The 360 degree lights are really cool looking. The battery life was pretty good and charging was quick. My biggest gripes were that the app is essentially worthless, the throttle broke after a week, the rear tire guard is worthless, and after a week of normal riding the thing rattled like it was going to fall apart. The app connects via bluetooth, which was very spotty. Rides don't record in the app unless your phone is unlocked with the app open. The throttle broke after a week, which made using the cruise control very dangerous. I could hold the throttle in and when I released it it did not return to starting position so you have to manually pull it forward and press the throttle again to release cruise. When not on cruise, if you released the throttle you would have to pull it to start to engage the throttle again. If you tried to just push it in again without return to the starting position the scooter would not go. Very annoying. The rear tire guard is worthless. I live in Florida and during summer it rains. I never rode the scooter in the rain, but I did ride on the road after the rain and all of that water and mud flicked up my back to my neck. And finally, after a week of normal riding on somewhat smooth roads, the scooter creaks and rattles like it could fall apart. It is just poorly constructed. The suspension is tight and the ride is sort of uncomfortable. I returned the scooter because I was concerned that I would have more problems going forward. But hey, it was a lot of fun to ride. ... show more
