Tricky to set up - had to go through the process twice before it actually worked. Portion size is super small, so I set it for 2 portions for breakfast and two for dinner, and that has done well for my 9 lb cat. Feeder forces you to record a greeting, which plays 3 times in a row at each mealtime, with a clunky mechanical noise in between - very AI sounding and creepy. But ultimately this feeder has worked well, and has the battery backup in case the power goes out, so you won't lose your meal settings. I've been using it for a couple months now and I like it. My cat was initially afraid of it, since the kibble bangs noisily in the metal receiving bowl, and the voice recording comes out weird, but she got used to it quickly and now takes off running to the bowl when she hears the kibble falling. ... show more

    • Difficult to program. NO ON-OFF switch

I like the D-cell backup but since there is no ON-OFF switch one must disable the batteries . Start-up will require a new frustrating programing session. Feeding times and portion size were reliable.

It’s a good automatic feeder, nice design, good size, not too big and boo small, perfect for one cat. Easy to use, but it’s so hard to see the screen without it being backlit, you have to grab the whole machine and turn it up or use a flashlight to see the screen. Otherwise it would be a great product ... show more

I read it could be used for a small dog, but I would only recommend for a toy breed. The dish is small and sits recessed a bit to allow for the food to fill it.

It took a little bit of tinkering to figure out just the right setting for our kitty, but since we figured it out, it has been SO handy and convenient! We also love that it let us record a message that our kitty really responds to and is excited about!

This is so perfect for our dog because we are always on the go. So we don’t have to remember now to always replace the food. This is perfect. It holds the right amount and all we have to do is refill the container. Perfect. We love it.

Dog food, even tiny dog food pieces don't work well with this feeder. Even the tiniest of kibbles don't really come out because they do not fit. Also, only a little at time comes out. I liked that you could record yourself saying something when it is set to feed. Startled me pretty good for a a while when it would go off. My dog quickly learned what it was and would go running for just a few tiny morsels. He's 45 pounds this thing doesn't put out nearly enough for a full feeding. I stopped using it but do sometimes store extra dog food in it, i use the scoop and remove the top completely to feed him. ... show more
