Grill is better than expected! Helpful hint, I bought a charcoal warmer and set it right on top of the side burner and turn on the gas. It heats the coals and then I dump them in the charcoal grill side. I know a lot of people are complaining about the rust. When I got mine there was a metal shelf that sits on top of the smoker lid that had some rust but it wasn't a big spot. While putting mine together I had a rag and coated all pieces in vegetable oil and wiped them down inside and out, like you would an iron skillet. It sits outside with a cover and hasn't show any rust in two months. I live in Florida. It still appears to have a decent sheen from the oil but dry to the touch. So far so good. ... show more

The BBQ was delivered in one 220# box, so it took a little work to unbox, but everything was packaged well, with styrofoam in the corners to avoid handling damage, Pieces fit well, and the hardware was all there - however, what the instructions call 1/4 - 5/16" bolts are actually metric, so metric sockets are needed. Construction is good, with all parts fitting well. Some parts could possibly be made a little heavier (such as the bottom shelf), but at 220#, there's plenty of steel in the BBQ. The access handles are coiled steel like your grandmother's old stove, but the design worked then, and it will work now. The BBQ is made from steel painted with high temperature paint, so a can of BBQ paint will come in handy for touchup when needed. ... show more

Excellent charcoal and propane grills. More heat than one would ever need. Sturdiness of cast iron puts it in a class way above an entry-level smoker. Offset smoker made an amazing 12-pound Texas-style brisket first time (though Mr. Franklin would not approve of the propane burner I installed to heat the skillet full of post oak!). This grill is great. I have only one small issue and that is the charcoal door does not lineup causing paint to chip on the corner of the door and does not close tightly because of that issue. Beyond that I love this grill. Built very heavy duty and should last a long time. I have used the charcoal, smoker and gas with this grill and found each to work very well. The Gas side is even heat across the cooking area with the exception of about a 2" area at the front of the grill that has a cold area. This is due to the burners stopping short of that area for placement of the igniters. I do not find that as an issue as every grill I have ever had had much larger cold areas on the grilling area. The smoker allows for easy adding of wood through the side or from the top if the grates are not in the smoker area. The side smoker does feed the smoke and heat into the charcoal side without any restriction. Overall I find this grill to be one of the best I have owned so far. I will provide an update on this grill next year. **Note** The door fitment. You cannot adjust the doors as they are welded to the hinges and the hinges are welded to the grill.** ... show more

Having done lots of research into a multi use grill and settled on thus one. You will need to buy sealant to vlsoe up some of the gaps. I also took high temp spray paint and coated the edges and underbelly to help prevent rust. The grill is easy to put together (there are assembly videos on you tube to help) keep it cleaned and weatherproofed and it will last a long time. Well worth the $$. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I notice that the 150 lbs box was upside down when we got it on a pallet. So no way a shipper got that wrong... Once I unpack the box and laid out parts, I notice some of the parts were dented and pushed in or miss shape. Ok I sent a email and try calling Support but was told to expect a response in ten days. Then I notice that one of the potted steal name plates were broken.. I went ahead and built the grill out just to take stock in the remaining damage and I was surprise to find even the inner grill was bent, Then the last thing that was bent and that killed the grill was the fact that one of the gas heads was blowing gas outside the inner grill area and ran the rest of blowing out the two heads. Teh brass fitting was completely out of place. The manufacture needs to pick this unit up and study how it got so damage before I got it today. Less then 12 hours and it is not usable.
