This stainless steel water fountain has been wonderful for my pets (2 dogs & 1 cat)! They ALL love drinking from it, and the stainless steel design looks great in my home while being much more hygienic than plastic. It keeps the water fresh and encourages them to stay hydrated, which is a huge plus. However, I’ve found that it does need to be cleaned with every refill to avoid any buildup, which can be a bit of extra work. The media could not be loaded. First off... if you are wondering can you use this with kittens? Yes. At 6 weeks old my kittens were able to use this. I put placed a shoe box lid in front of it to act like a little step stool. They are 9 months now and they can easily drink from it without assistance. I chose this one because of the design. The water flows on top of a stainless steel lid and then flows down to the storage area where the main water tank is as well as the filter. Because of that when my kittens walk over it, they don't make a mess everywhere like they used to. They used to spill or knock over the water dish and make a mess everywhere. They also used to track food or litter in the water. Now if they do, the sponge traps any debris and filters our clean water. But because it's a lot larger than the old water dish, they walk over it less than before. It has a large water capacity so it reduces the amount of times you have to refill it. I still regularly put fresh water in it and clean it. It's made out of quality materials and the devices is extremely quiet. The only thing you really hear is the flowing water and even that is very quiet. I like the little window into the tank. It lights up so it's easy to see where the water dish is at night in the dark and also it allows you to see the water level so you know when you have to refill it. My only complaint is that I wish the filters lasted more than a week. It recommends refilling the filter every week. So keep in mind that you have to continue to buy the filters and sponges regularly if you want it to filter the water. Otherwise you can just have the water flow and not filter it. This is not a battery operated water dish. It requires being plugged into an outlet. So if you have kittens that like to chew cords, you need to keep that in mind as well. But just a trick, wrap the cord in tinfoil and they will learn not to chew the cord. No issues with the device so far. Oh and it's also really easy to clean. ... show more

I'm happy with this cat fountain. Before I got it I was wondering how big it would be. It's sometimes hard to judge from a picture when there's no reference point, and even if a picture shows a cat next to the fountain, cats come in different sizes, so.... I can honestly say that am really happy with the size. It's the size of a regular/small toaster so it's not an eyesore or an obstacle that needs to be carefully walked around. It's very quiet, I don't hear the motor at all. Once in a while I hear the sound of the water trickling slightly but in a house with normal activity you won't even remember it's there. It's easy to set up, easy to clean the few parts that should be checked for cleanliness as you expect to do. I like the porthole with the light that shines out of it to see the water level. At first I thought the light that shines through was deflective, but a simple adjustment of the filter around the motor gives you more or less light depending on how bright you want the light to glow at night. I've had the fountain for a month and I've only seen my cat drink from it a few times, but that's a cat issue, not a water fountain issue. And yet, my cat loves to drink running water from the bathroom sink, so go figure. That's why I bought this particular model, I thought it would mimic the running water the best. I must have looked at 50 videos on line before I made my choice. I'm happy with this fountain; the price and the quality is right, I wish the filters were cheaper, but we'll see how that goes down the line. Love the fountain! Easy to clean and holds a LOT of water. The cats love it, both drink in different ways which is why I picked this fountain over others. The bowl part holds a nice amount of water for the one that likes drinking the old fashioned way and the spout flows nicely not splashing around for my other cat! Its very quiet and I feel like I only have to refill it once a week. It is pretty easy to clean but make sure to look at ALL the cracks and crevasses! I thought I was cleaning it pretty well but I found out there's a lot more hidden compartments and parts inside the filter area that I was not getting! Something to keep in mind but not deter you from getting it! I've had this one for at least 3 months and its still going strong, no issues and both cats love it! ... show more

I recently bought one and it works great, is quiet and all 6 of my cats started drinking from it. Bought a second one because of the success of the first one. Now I am considering a 3rd to replace the water bowl upstairs. Easly to clean, disassemble and reassemble, and great quality. The little window helps keep track of the water level. I love the fact that you can just plug it in and I don't have to worry about "charging it." I'm a forgetful person, I'd rather just plug and go. ... show more

The only reason why we have a new fountain is because we loved the old fountain so much. We had to get another. We have been using it for years now and it’s been great. The first one was just the same thing but it was the best. I’m sure you will love it too. The other two are really cute. Really nice job and you look great and happy. Water color is my favorite thing on the planet and you should definitely get a good one. You can also use a brush or something to make it look natural or even clean and not too messy.
