Great for single cat homes. Works exactly as advertised, and the mat that comes with it is good at catching the litter stuck to the cats paws. The top of the unit does need cleaning on a daily basis, as it gets litter remnants from the cat entering/exiting. Very quiet operation. The noise of the air freshener going off is actually louder than the cleaning cycle. No issues from setup to now (about 1 month). The bags are easy to install and remove and would hold about 7-10 days worth of waste before the smell becomes too much. Update: Stopped working after a few months. Became very difficult to clean and the deodorizing spray created quite a mess. Also, the odor was similar to that of a regular litter box over time. I recently purchased this litter box for my cat Shadow, and it has been a total game changer! The convenience and cleanliness it offers are remarkable. Here’s a breakdown of my experience: Pros: Automated Cleaning: The litter box automatically sifts and removes waste after each use. This eliminates the need for daily scooping, making it incredibly low-maintenance and keeping the litter box area much cleaner. Odor Control: One of my biggest concerns with traditional litter boxes was the odor. With the robotic litter box, waste is quickly sealed in a compartment, and the unit uses filters to minimize any smells. Cat-Friendly Design: My cat took to it almost immediately. The unit is spacious, and the smooth transition between cycles didn’t scare or disturb her. It’s designed with cats’ comfort and safety in mind. Monitoring Features: Some models offer app integration that lets you track your cat’s usage, which can be helpful to monitor their health.     • An honest review …
… 3 weeks of use. First, let me say we already own a liter robot 3 for nearly 3 years so an automatic litter box is not new for us. We recently moved to a new apartment and one cat developed fear issues with either the location of the LR3 in the new place or the globe enclosure. We are not sure why as she used it for a month without issue so we suspect something scared her while using the box when the issues started. We discovered that she was having issues when she suddenly urinated in the closet. So to eliminate the enclosed globe being an issue, we went in search of an open (not enclosed) style automatic litter box. We had high hope for this box and had $120 off coupon deal so decided to give it a try. We have used it for over 3 weeks and surprisingly the cat that we bought it for refuses to go near it, let alone use it. Two of our other cats started using it immediately so it has been getting used so I can give an honest review: Pros: 1. Open, no cover design for more phobic cats that won’t go inside an enclosed box 2. Very quiet (except for auto sprayer at end of cycle) 3. Safety sensors so it stops if cat sticks head or other body part in the box while it is cycling. 4. Not too bulky or heavy to lift nor takes up an excessive amount of space both horizontally and vertically. 5. Uses regular litter of your choice. 6. Price is good comparatively. Cons: 1. Waste drawer for used litter is way too narrow/short height wise. Two of our cats will urinate a lot at one time and the clump size is fairly large and often it was too big for the tray area when dumped and the rotating litter pan pushed the clump back against the rear wall where it would cause the drawer to get kinda stuck when trying to pull it out to check if you need to dump used litter. 2. This brings me to next con - there’s no accurate alert for when the drawer is full. The only time the lights flashed and beeped to alert me to full drawer was after I shut it off and back on to clean up the clump mesh in the back area of drawer space when con #1 occurred. (Unfortunately more than once in the 3+ weeks we used it). And the drawer was actually just an empty bag then. It was read a part of the bag that moved when I shut the drawer. Most of the time the light went off like a sleep mode tho the box would still cycle during this time when used but no lights or beeps meant no alerts to any issues with waste drawer. 4. If a cat urinates too close to the grate then the clump gets stuck on and behind the grate area where the litter goes when boxes cycles. Had to remove the whole litter box insert to be able to tilt it to get grate flap to open so clump could be removed from behind it. 5. Grate holes are too big in my opinion and allows pieces of poop and urine clumps to not be dumped into waste tray. 6. Actually area for cats to use isn’t big enough for large cats honestly. Tho the cats that did use this box didn’t let that stop them the stood with front paws of the top parts of the pan as there wasn’t room for them to have all 4 paws in the pan and be able to position themselves to do their business. And the final 🛑MAJOR ISSUE🛑 was that the litter pan stuck in tilting forward position after only 3 weeks of use. There is no reset to default position mode at all. It would just alarm and not move from this position after it got stuck. Because of the design of pan’s position when tilted forward like that (which should have be for only a few seconds if working properly), the pan was blocking the removal of the waste drawer with the waste inside behind where the pan was creating the block. This effectively rendered the box unusable and useless. I’m glad that this major issue occurred now rather than later since I only had 4 days left in the 30-day return period. Definitely returning this box and get my money back. And back to the drawing board on my search for an auto box with non-enclosed design as I do still want to have a 2nd automatic box that isn’t completely enclosed. And as for the cat the caused this search to begin - she is still not 100% independently using the LR3 all the time. Oddly, sometimes she will come to one of us and meow to let us know she needs to go. Then we walk her to the box and coax her into the box by lifting her up with front paws on the globe opening and she’ll hop in and do her business. I previously gave this item a five star review. I was wrong! This worked great and my cats loved it then it stopped working. Just bought end of August and now it reversed its dumping and dumps out the entire pan of litter. Calls made to Customer Service resulted in busy signals every time and emailed their Customer Service twice with no response. Contacted Amazon to see if they could help and they got me to a screen where I could communicate with the seller. Again, no response. All I wanted was help to get the pan reversed to dump out the waste. Now I'm stuck with an expensive mistake. Frustrated and very unhappy. Past the Amazon return window. :( ... show more
