I just installed a new heat pump system used the new professional model of the Ecobee thermostat. The Heat pump was confusing and I believed I needed 8 wires for full controls but later found out the heat pump only needed 5 with an intelligent thermostat. But I used this wire and it was easy to manipulate and after I ran it I ohm tested each wire to make sure none had a break in them before hooking them up and they were all good. I used this to wire my Nest thermostat. The rigidity makes it a little easier to snake through the wall as the individual wires are solid copper not strands. They are a little harder to bend all wires within a confined space when wiring the thermostat, but careful measuring and cutting helps a lot. Tip: Push excess wire into the wall just in case you mess up the connections and have to redo. Simply cut the end off, pull out more excess and start over. ... show more

Wire was as expected. Be aware that the wire is not on a spool. As soon as you unwrap the ties the whole thing explodes into a big mess.
