Over the past several years I have been working with home automation products. I have tried a few makes of devices, SmartThings, several WeMo devices and some iDevices. Now these. Why? They're cheap & they're advertised as working with my "Alexa". Until this week, I never knew much about hooking up all this stuff with mysterious, black Amazonian cylinder, relying instead on the iPhone applications. The devices mentioned above tend to be a little flakey; losing connections, not responding, you know the usual stuff. So, I figured, "how much worse can this get?". Let this WeMo stuff lock my doors??? FORGET IT! Sooo... I ordered a set of these mini outlet devices. For about $10 each, how bad could it be? Wow, was I surprised!!! I had them set up and working through my little Amazonian friend in under 15 minutes. Oh, yes, that's three units up and working 100% within 15 minutes! Working in concert with the other stuff. No pain. No fuss. No muss. And reliable? Heck yeah!!! Alexa isn't telling me "A device is not responding". They're working absolutely perfectly! I'll buy these next time and the time after that and will absolutely recommend them without any reservations. I should mention that my router is a 2.4G/5G unit and I utilize band-steering, so 2.4G devices will home in on the 2.4G network and the 5G compatible devices will seek that network. These mini outlet units work wonderfully in my situation. If you do NOT have a 2.4G capable network, this will NOT be the device for you. For me, it's nothing short of totally awesome! ... show more

I put a one-star review after finding how difficult it is to set up these smart plugs, and guess what? They are still not working nowadays because the definitions app needs me to sign up with my phone number and has removed all my previous connections, which made me uncomfortable. The previous connections took me about one hour! So, please save your time, find other products!! My original comments are: "It's very difficult, nearly impossible, to set up. Whoever wrote the instruction that came with the box failed the work..." However, the sellers reached out to me constantly (via about 10 emails), offering me a refund to remove the comment, which I felt it's a violation of or say a bribe to my freedom of speech. I decided to ignore it because my price for freedom of speech is priceless. I respect my decency. I also told this interesting anecdote to my mom, and she said I could help them - the sellers. But I said I have to think about it because I, as a buyer, want to help other buyers to know what they can expect. Anyhow, the seller did not stop emailing me with an increasing amount of refunds (which is not cool at all). I read those emails as jokes. How could you buy others' freedom of speech for like fifty bucks? Ridiculous! However, this morning, the last email said it was difficult for whoever sent the email to maintain positive feedback. I understand, especially for this pandemic era, in some country the over-powerful gov that has made substantial damage to small businesses. Part of me was touched. So I am changing my rate from 1 to 5 stars but leaving the story here for other buyers' review. Lastly, I didn't claim any refund nor have direct contact with the seller.     • Super disappointed with these plugs!

These plugs worked GREAT at first — setup was a breeze, and I loved being able to control them through the Cloud Intelligence app and link them to my Google Home. HOWEVER, we changed the name of our wifi one day, and I cannot for the life of me get them to reconnect. I've spent hours trying to factory reset them and reconnect, but the Cloud Intelligence app simply won't recognize them anymore. I've tried using the 'Auto Discover' feature and linking them manually, and I've even tried to connect them to the Tuya, Smart Light, and Smart Life apps. It just isn't possible anymore, and it doesn't make any sense — it's been a maddening experience! I tried asking a 'question' about it on this Amazon listing, hoping to hear from the seller with a solution, but all I got were replies from other people who had had the exact same experience. I'm super disappointed, as I've had these for less than a year and I did a ton of research trying to find high-quality, affordable smart plugs to buy. Unfortunately, I can't recommend them at all — unless you plan to never move, change your wifi details, adjust your aura, etc. — because then they'll just drive you crazy and you'll be out $$$. It’s pretty easy to set up and download app but different switches works with different apps all of my switches is tuya smart app and this one doesn’t work with it. Just tired of keep downloading apps every time i need to order new switches. It does work with alexa i use them for Christmas tree lights, outdoor string lights, carport light, etc. so i keep needing more switches i ended up just giving these away so i can get the other ones. ... show more

I’ve heard friends talk about these smart plugs and how cool they are. I just had to see for myself. Hubby is so tired when he gets home from work so I decided to purchase these to make his life just a little bit easier when he gets home. They were pretty easy to set up. I was able to do it all by myself, effortlessly. (I am not tech savvy at all) I did have to reset the network and turn off all of the devices I wanted to connect for 15 minutes. once I turned everything on at the same time it worked perfectly. I Used one of these to control his fan in the bedroom. It is so nice to turn the TV off and then tell Alexa to turn on THE FAN!! White noise from the fan is so sleep inducing for him.. but not for me, so once he’s asleep I can tell the fan to shut off without having to get out of bed.. Use it to ask Alexa to turn off the floor lamp, which he always forgets to do once he’s in bed as well. The conveniences are endless.. planning on ordering more! Amazing price! These smart plugs are not what was advertised. Do not work with Smart Life or Alexa. Cloud Intelligence works only periodically. I would not buy these products again.
