Very complete harness. Wires labeled. Be prepared to spend some time doing it. This made a hard job “do-able”.

I have a 1976 Chevy C10, that I converted the entire truck with a donor harness from an 89 GMC Burb, and this setup is identical to the harness I installed into my truck, save for the thru the cab wiring. I cant speak to wire color coding, because I don't plan to replace my existing harness until I install my 8.1L and have to merge 2, excuse me 3 trucks into one. The quality seems to be there when we inspected the harness, although some of the connectors at the fuse box didnt fit the plastic well, the connectors want to twist inside the plastic, or rather don't stay very straight in the box if a fuse is removed. Sure the wire can be twisting, but my GM harness they don't do that at all. Overall not a bad value, just take caution because generally when buying wire from overseas the sizes of wire are generally not the same gauge size, they tend to be a bit smaller than wire thats US made. ... show more

    • Surprsingly Good Bargain
So the genius who painted the interior of my 1979 F-100 (for the previous owner) didn't bother masking off any of the wiring behind the dash, so EVERY wire inside my truck's cab is red. So is the fuse box, and every fuse that hasn't been replaced yet. (Oddly enough, the wiring outside the cab is fine, so go figure.) So I've been hoping to find a good price on a decent wiring harness, but all I have seen is either $1000 for a complete harness with all new switches, sockets, and connectors, or close to $300 for a bundle of wires that really didn't impress me. To find this set for under $100 just amazes me. This set has copper wires that are as good as, if not better than, the "name brand" harness that costs more than three times as much. And they're all labeled and numbered, which saves me figuring out how to label everything. The fuse box is pretty standard - I really don't see any difference between this one and the more expensive one - and is fully populated, even including flashers for the turn signals and hazard lights. There is even a bag containing some plastic connectors (which likely won't fit my old truck), some few crimp connectors, the headlight circuit breaker, and a horn relay. The instructions are pretty good, and include sections for GM, Ford, and MOPAR, but of course they're not specific to your vehicle, so follow their advice and get organized and take your time. The harness is divided into four sections - Front, Tail, Steering Column, and Dash, so you basically work on one section at a time until you're finished. Note that the wires in this kit may not be long enough to completely rewire your vehicle, especially a truck with an 8-foot bed, so don't go ripping out all the wiring yet. I'm just planning to rewire the cab of my truck, so will be splicing this into the existing wiring, so it should be great for what I need. Also note that it's a "universal" kit, which means it doesn't really fit anything perfectly, so be ready to drill some holes, make some adjustments, and\or buy different connectors and\or pigtails to fit your specific needs. You should go through and make a list of everything you'll need to buy or do, and have everything ready before you start installing this kit. In fact, the instruction book includes several blank pages for you to make notes before you start, and step two is to use those pages. Overall, I am very pleased with this kit, especially at the price, and now I just need to round up a few connectors and wait for cooler weather . . . ... show more
