This is a practice mat. I am under no illusion that it will feel exactly like sand. That is because it isn't sand. I am also not standing in sand. No sand involved. What it DOES do, is allow you to utilize and practice the same swing that you use in the sand. Unless you steal your kids sandbox, I don't know how else you are going to do this. What if you don't even have kids? What if they don't have a sandbox? I think this is a valuable tool. Worth it if you want to practice your sand swing. ... show more

I was surprised that you don't get any movement while using this. It's built well and has a lot of stainless steel so should last long term. This Bunker Mate is a great tool to consistently improve my sand shots in golf. The Bunker Mate has two types of bristles that mimic the duality of soft and packed sand found on a real course. The longer bristles feel like soft sand, providing a realistic experience. With this tool, I've been able to improve my sand shots significantly in a short time.
