I picked this up to place in my closet and have a little safety for some valuables. It's the perfect size for my needs. In the box, the safe, manual, 2 keys, 2 screws to anchor it, and cloth mat for inside the safe. I was able to anchor the safe securely to where I wanted it and set up the digital lock easily enough with the use of 4 AA batteries. This does not hold charge, as I would have liked to see. Had the port been placed on the backside and not on the front, then I wouldn't find it so obstructive. I understand, however, that batteries are intended and not included. The port is meant for backup, though I just plug the power cord in before each use. I store medicine, important documents, and cash in my new lockbox. Nothing short of this device would stop my curious kindergartener; he is always finding new ways to outsmart me. Mark my word, I will never again find a snipped 100 dollar bill. Also, no matter how high you keep your medicine, one day, your child will climb and reach them before you realize that they could. And, with how colorful and sometimes candy-like meds are made to look, it's never been more important than now to keep everything locked away. Look at the rise in marijuana ingestion in children since legalization. I hope this message finds you well. I like the size actually, as it's all I needed. I can leave it out on my desk for quick-access. I actually find it easy-on-the-eyes, rather sleek. However, if you're looking to deter home invaders, perhaps try mounting it inconspicuously. I would have to say this safe is between a quality safe and a toy. It is decent for the office to keep things safe during work hours. I would actually recommend this safe for older kids and teenagers that would want to keep items away from anyone else in their household. My younger self would of loved this safe to keep my hard earned cash in and away from my brothers. Overall if I was to stay at a hotel and this safe was installed there I most likely would not use the safe. ... show more

This safe is great for my needs, pay close attention to the size as it's a bit smaller than some of the other ones in this style. The code was easily changed with the instructions and it opens easily once the code is entered. It's not heavy duty or thick material, someone determined to get into it would likely succeed with some tools and some time but it's a great deterrent to keep my personal items out of reach. ... show more

The point to a safe is that you can't get into it without a code or key. I found out by accident--after spending an entire afternoon finding a good, secure place to mount this safe that is both accessible and not obvious--that if I turn the knob hard enough when it's supposedly locked, I can get the bolts to move in enough to open the door. And it doesn't even take much effort (not that that should matter). It's one thing to get a kitchen tool like a spatula that breaks the first time you use it. It's another thing entirely to get a security device that provides NO security. I could only be more disappointed in this if the safety of my family was at stake, not just my family's most valuable possessions. Please avoid. ... show more

This is a great safe for that hide-a-way location. It does have holes on the inside to mount it either on the bottom or the rear and has hardware included to do so. It also includes a piece of felt that can be cut to fit the bottom. The safe is battery operated (4 AA batteries not included) but does have a set of keys that will open the safe if the batteries are dead as well as it has a USB-C port to attach an external power source as well. All kinds of power options so you never have to worry about you being locked out from your valuables. With the door open you can set the keypad combination and there is a reset button on the inside as well if needed. This safe is pretty heavy duty. Great thickness to the housing as well as the dual locking bars makes it extra secure. The flanges on the frame make it impossible to pry open. For me this will be mounted on a shelf in the closet so I can use both the bottom and rear screw holes to mount it but, will need to hit the hardware store since it only comes with 2 screws. The size is perfect for jewelry, money, or anything small of value and to be tucked away and hidden easily. ... show more
