Update: this had been a huge hit, grandson feels confident learning to swim. It fits better than originally percieved - there are expanding panels on sides so it will fit as he grows and the crotch doesn't seem to be a problem for his over all comfort. Sand made the buckle on crotch stick but rinsing in water resolved that. Thus seems quality and looks as pictured. Original rvw: We just got this, nicely packaged! Grandson is excited to try it but we put it on him and it just fits with zero room in the crotch and straps all the way extended. Odd because the vest portion has generous length on the straps. The pics on the ad are obviously deceptive showing 7 & 8 year olds wth extra strap hanging over. There's no way this would fit a child 77 lbs. My Grandson is only 60 lbs and just over 4ft tall with an average body style. This strap is not the most important safety feature but it did make this vest almost twice what you would pay for one without the crotch strap. The pic is of the sz L w/crotch buckled and fully extended. Since it's just to hold the vest down, it should be more comfortable and maybe even elastic. ... show more

We love this life jacket! It has 2 straps that buckle underneath to keep the life jacket around the child's chest and not up slipping up under her chin. She is so comfortable swimming in it we can hardly get her to come out of the water! Definitely recommend!

Great fit and did what it was supposed to do. My daughter is 4 and in 4t/5t clothes. She went off the float ring while we were pulling her and my husband with the pontoon and it kept her safe. Highly recommend.
