  • Helps tight hip muscles!
Lens Color: white
I'm not using this to work on my splits. I'm using this because my hip joint gets really tight from not stretching or moving enough. My muscles got so uncomfortable I was constantly fighting in my chair trying to stretch at work. I needed a deeper stretch than I could do myself to get the pain to go away which is why I bought this. I am 5'3 and 240lb. I've been using this sometimes once a day and sometimes once every few days for 1 month now. Not only are my muscles not so tight, I have noticed I'm able to go a little bit wider with the machine than when I first started. So I'd assume if you use it a few times a day consistently, it would definitely help do the splits! ... show more

  • Very poor quality
Lens Color: white
When I placed the order I did not expect much about the quality as I know Amazon these days sells bunch of low quality products. But, the quality and design of this is so bad that I am writing this to warn anyone else considering order this (normally i do not write a product review and this could be my first one) ... show more

  • 180 degree split - max
Lens Color: white
I have several ballet minded grandkids that are always working on their stretches. Unfortunately they have exceeded the 180 stretch, but can still use this for workouts and flexibility. It is well made for a small to medium person, however, for this larger sized granddad - No thank you. Easy to expand and contract by middle of legs bar handle. Pretty fluid movement. ... show more

  • Feels like a medieval torture device, but I think it works
Lens Color: white
Flexibility is not my strong point. I guess I ordered this when it came up on my recommended items list half because of guilt and half-inspired by the countless ads I've seen of programs teaching you to do splits in a month (or so). I do two rounds on it daily, one after warming up for my normal workout, and one at the end of the workout, holding for five minutes each... while I catch up on my morning emails. Sad realization: I need more things that keep me in a stretch position while I am on my laptop. Second sad realization: I subscribe to way too many newsletters. But, truth be told, mindless stretching while doing something else seems like a decent idea... if you know what you are doing. Today is day 10 of this regiment. It has been a few days that my body has been starting to figure out how to get my back not to complain during these stretches. Here comes my first complaint about this device: hardly any instructions to come with it, something that could have spared my back at least some confusion. At least my body seems to be a slow learner, but a learner nevertheless. My second complaint: I would really have appreciated something that measures the angle between the legs while using the device. The way this machine is operating, I am relying on how my legs feel to figure out how far to spread them. But maybe that's the way to go? So, will I do full splits in a month? Probably not, but who cares... It's an easy exercise that doesn't cost me time, as I am going through stuff that I would have gone through anyway... The machine itself is sturdy enough. At its smallest setting with respect to the leg length, it is comfortable for my 5'2" tall body, and I guess it can accommodate quite taller people. And, it's easy to hide away while not in use. Pretty happy with it, enough to inspire me to start looking for other mindless stretching options... ... show more
