BODEGACOOLER 12 Volt Car Refrigerator, 42Quart (40L) is a portable refrigerator that is great for road trips or camping. After purchasing this product, we (2 people) went on a 14-day road trip on summer vacation, and ate meals using frozen foods and ingredients prepared at home. The level of keeping -20 degrees Celsius frozen was excellent. In the latter half of the trip, it was kept at 4 degrees Celsius and used as a cooler, and at night, the temperature was maintained without much change by using a frozen cold pack without using electricity. - As you can see in the attached photo, the shipping box was double-packed and shipped well without any damage. - The size of the product can be estimated by the size of a Costco water bottle. - When using a portable battery, a fairly large capacity battery is required to maintain -20 degrees Celsius. A fully charged Jackery Explorer 240 only lasted 3 hours to maintain -20 degrees Celsius. - There is a little bit of noise when using it in the car, but it's not too annoying. - We use this product as a secondary 4 degree refrigerator to store cool drinks at home. ... show more

I just returned from an almost 4wk cross country trip from Long Beach, CA to Bangor ME, then down to NM, before heading home. The first fridge I recieved didn't cool even after having been left upright over night and then plugged in for a couple of hours. Amazon quickly took care of that. The second one I left upright for almost 24hrs and it handled moving from the car 12v to the Anker battery pack/"generator" just fine! The cooler ran pretty much non-stop aside from maybe 3-4 days through out this time when I decided it to turn it off and was able to move things to a house fridge over night to let it defrost a bit so I can wipe out the condensation that had frozen to the walls. For the most part it didn't use too much power even when leaving it on the Max setting over night. The Anker PowerHouse II 400 388Wh pretty much only dropped maybe 30% overnight. The only time when it got dicey and the battery was drained hard was when driving through the southwest and it was 100+ outside, during the drive the car AC was set to 72F, but overnight the Anker battery went from 100% to 64% one night and 14% the second night when I decided to just let the cooler and the battery charge from the car and not daisy chain the cooler off the battery. ... show more

It worked well, even while driving on extremely steep roads. I started with shore power to pre-cool the food space (even to - 4), then vehicle power for the remainder and everything worked as stated on the advertisement.

This cooler cools great but it should have a handle and wheels. My wife and I are elderly and both have disabilities so this cooler when loaded with food and drink is just too heavy. I will keep using it because it does work so well but I suggest adding a handle and wheels.

The media could not be loaded. After a one day use , my cooler keep reboot in a certain amount of time .the display shows same temperature can’t be lower,maybe there was something wrong with it. Seller reached out and replaced a new one ,it works grea!

This is my second unit from Bodega. I have 72L last year use it on multiple RV trip and hunting work like a charm. You really have to see the instruction manual to learn all the future. I get this smaller unit for my side cabinets to hold drinks or freeze food for long trips. You can run this unit all day with your battery, best part is it cuts off if you batteries go below 50%.
