Picked this up ahead of a late fall overlanding/car camping trip with expected night time temperature around 32F. While I do have a 0F sleeping bag, we know those ratings are closer to absolute limit and not necessarily “comfort” temp. Sleeping bags will also take awhile to warm up with body heat, and any wind drafts/gaps will quickly become uncomfortable (especially the darkest hours around 5-6am). This was so cheap, it was a no brainer to give it a shot. I figured I can use this as a sleeping bag liner of sorts, and/or a blanket layering system when it’s not as cold. I’ve only tested it out at home thus far, but I’m very satisfied with it. The trick is to use a layer system just like dressing for the cold; Put another layer on top of this heating blanket and you’ll be so toasty. Yes, you can feel the wires inside the fairly soft fabric if you’re feeling around for them, but not when it’s just on you. The amp / wattage draw is very reasonable at ~3.42 amp / 41watt. It can easily be powered by a 250watt portable power station for 6 hours, which should be enough for what I need. It heats up within a few minutes too! Most vehicles will have ~600watt battery, but you should not discharge more than ~40% to make sure you can still have enough voltage to start the car. Simple math means you’ll have about 240watts, and should not plug into a vehicle’s starter battery for more than 6 hours if it’s not running. As others have said, no on/off switch or temperature adjustment, but it’s easy enough to wire a switch myself, so I’ll be doing that. On a slightly side note, I’d recommend car campers/overlander to pick up a 500watt+ power station and charge the power station throughout the day with the vehicle running or solar. ... show more

I am a very “cold” person. My husband argue over the temperature in the car often. This heated blanket is very soft and big enough to cover me up well and keep me warm on any trip we take. Affordable price and definitely worth the purchase. However, I do have a disclaimer: one while using the cord was laying on my knee and after a while I could feel it kind of burning the area. After I took the blanket off I had a very red place on my leg the was the size and shape of the cord to the blanket. I was wearing jeans at the time. So be careful! ... show more

Ok, I see alot of negative reviews for the 12volt blanket. A lot saying it dosent get hot, or it's not that warm. First off , this is a 12volt blanket, made of polyester. These 12 volt blanket aren't made to heat up like a house electric blanket. There 12 volt. They do what 12 volts can do..These blankets aren't going to defrost meat lol. You use this blanket to maintain your body heat, so hyperthermia dosent set in. They'll keep you alive if stranded in your car in severe cold weather. Their not powerfull enough for you to enjoy a tropical paradise of comfort. Use common sense. Use the blanket before youre stone cold. This is a 12volt blanket. Expectations of a home electric blanket is ridiculous. Once you understand that ,you'll realize this is a excellent 12volt blanket for the price. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was super excited about this product and at the same time super letdown by this product. I couldn’t wait to receive it and use it and see how good it was going to work just to find out it didn’t work good at all. It has taken almost an hour just to feel a tad bit of heat and it’s not even really heat as warmth. I absolutely would not recommend this product to anyone at least by this company. I received the product. I opened the product. I took it to my car, plugged it in to test it out an hour later it still did not heat up. This product does not work. This product does not distribute adequate heat throughout the blanket once it started working it only got warm slightly no heat. This product did not deliver. ... show more

This blanket was great, warm, it worked great in the car. Also used with a solar battery system. After 2 years, stopped working. The light comes on when you plug it in, but doesn't pull any power. If you're buying this consider it works good but it's not long lasting. May still be worth it for price, haven't compared for couple years. ... show more

My 2024 Hyundai Kona doesn’t have bum heaters. Purchased to drape over my car seat to keep me warm during the cold and snowy months. Would definitely recommend! Checkered black and white goes well with any interior color. Can’t wait to continue using and recommending to others.
