I have been buying this product for a while and I noticed it was cheaper on amazon and I also saw that it came in a different package. I was hoping that the pack that is advertised was more eco friendly. But, I got this brown re-sealable bag instead. This bag is also not accepted or recycled by most facilities. I hope Bob's redmill will make its backaging easily recyclable, zero waste or biodegradable soon. I love Bob' Red Mill brand. Golden flax seeds have been difficult to find in local stores during the pandemic. So I thought I would try it out online. I was hesitant because flax seeds seem to spoil easily. I think that is what happened. When I opened the bag a strong pungent/rancid smell was evident. Maybe during shipping it was in a hot environment. Unfortunately, this item did not qualify for return. So will need to make sure that is an option next time if I try again. ... show more

Wish my expiration date wasn't may of 2021, gives me less than a full year to use. Not sure if that's normal shelf life. Hope I use it enough before then. I bought to bake, and make lactation friendly foods for post partum. I expect great things from it!
