  • Great Flaxseed!
I love this flaxseed but I can honestly say this is the only one I have ever tried besides Bobs non organic which also taste good. Organic is better for you and I do think the taste of this golden flaxseed is a bit milder so I like it better. I used to put this in applesauce to eat but it was to thick and gritty for me so now I put 1 tablespoon in a half cup water and 1/2 tsp of sugar and heat 45 seconds in the microwave and drink. The heat destroys something in the flax that can affect your thyroid so I do it this way. I then follow with another 1/2 water to dilute so it does not sludge up in my intestines as it is a fiber and it thickens. I also take 2 hrs after or before my supplements per research. The fiber can grab the supplements and flush them through your system before they have a chance to work. The fiber is great for calming your stomach and for grabbing toxins to transport out of your body. Also the phytoestrogens in the flax meal are great for mood if your are post menopause and for constipation. The phytoestrogens also take places on the estrogen receptors on your cells to block bad estrogens from what I have read. This with DIM is helpful for healthy estrogen metabolism. The omega 3 are good for inflammation and skin as well. It will also helps to raise my HDL which is the good cholesterol. All in all one of the healthiest and easy foods I take. ... show more

  • I love this flaxseed meal!
I love this flaxseed meal. I am just now in my 30's jumping on the flaxseed bandwagon, and I am learning to cook with it. I am finding that it tastes great and has a lot of health benefits. Studies show that it helps fight cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. It is an excellent source of omega 3's, Lignans (antioxidants and plant estrogen), fiber, and ALA (decreases inflammation). Additionally, if you want a cheap and gentle cleanse eat clean (lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables) and add 2 tablespoons of flax daily to your diet for 2 weeks. You will notice a huge change in your energy level and overall regularity. Flax (especially in their whole form) are like little micro-scrubbers in your digestive tract. I buy both the flaxseed meal and the whole golden flaxseeds. I would just buy the whole seeds and grind them into meal, but I find it time consuming and not that easy to get it as fine as I would like - even with good food processor. Bob's Red Mill Flaxseed Meal has the perfect texture in my opinion. These are ground golden flaxseeds, as the darker ones look kind of odd in muffins and things. I prefer the taste of the golden flaxseeds as they taste a little more mild in my opinion. I highly recommend both Bob Red Mill Flaxseed Meal, and Bob Red Mill products in general. I have never been disappointed with their products. The quality is topnotch. ... show more

  • ... the first time I bought flaxseed but I really like this brand
This is the first time I bought flaxseed but I really like this brand. I would definitely recommend getting the ground golden flaxseed. There is no strong taste and it dissolves nicely in my breakfast smoothies. Good way to add more fiber to your diet. Would highly recommend.

  • Great egg replacer!!
Used this as an egg replacer in a vegan choc chip cookie recipe and it worked brilliantly!!! My meat eating hubby didn't even mind the flax flavor, and gobbled them all up (although that might have had something to do with the Ghiardelli chocoloate chips I used, haha). I used about 1 T flax meal to about 4 T warm water and let it sit for awhile. ... show more

  • Good source for good-for-you flaxseed meal
I use this flaxseed meal in my mix for healthy breakfast muffins. It's tasty and makes my muffins extra healthy. Since it's on my Amazon monthly shipment, it's also a good value.

Hard to review flaxseed. I put it into my oatmeal and any muffins I bake. Can't really taste it but I know it's there. I have a container that I keep in the fridge so it won't go bad, but I use it so much that I don't think it has time to go bad anyway!
