I live in Las Vegas and I know a lot about brutal heat. I’ve tried a cooling scarf that I wet before going out but it dries almost immediately and has to be wet over and over which is not always possible. I decided to try this fan and I am so glad I did! It puts out a lot of air especially on the higher settings and although it is a little heavy it is not uncomfortable. It is noisy on high speed but so worth it for the amount of air it puts out. I would recommend charging it fully when you get it. Mine was charged when I got it but it was not fully charged and on vacation I ran it on low hoping it wouldn’t stop. It comes with it’s own charging cord so be sure you have it with you if you are using the fan for travel. I thought I left the charging cord at home and could not recharge it but found the cord in the bottom of the suitcase when I got home! I was so impressed with this fan that as soon as I got home I ordered one for my daughter who sits out in the heat watching her son’s football games and she is in the heat after school getting the kids to their bus or car! Honestly I bought this because I work at a nursing home and the building, along with the a/c is old, and in the summer it can reach in the 80s inside the building. When the outside temp reaches above 83, I put this on at work. It keeps me nice and cool. It's charge last more than 6 hours running it on high. The only thing that I wish was better would be it takes a long time to fully charge it, however I just plug it in when I get home from work so it's ready to go for the next day. Best purchase ever, works great. It has three settings, if use on speed one this last me all day at work( about nine hours) and still has one bar left by the end of the day. My only complaint is that it doesn’t really work outside. I don’t think it’s good for extreme heat, but if you just need a little cool down this definitely helps. I agreed to a family vacation where we would be in dry desert-like conditions for 5 days, temps up to 100 and we would be outside most of the time on the water. I don't do well in hot weather, anything over 80 degrees gives me a terrible headache, but I love being outside so I bought this fan. This helped SO much, didn't get headaches in the heat of the day. We were paddling, playing on the beach, grilling on the deck, playing games (cornhole, pickleball) in full sun, and I kept this fan on my neck most of that time. Yes,alittle noisy on high, but used it while I was working outside and really didn't notice the noise, only that I was being kept very cool, on a very hot day. Perfect for hot humid days both at home, at the amusement park, and on the job (if you have an employer that'll let you wear one). It's like having your own personal air conditioner. It's a comfortable wearable weight, and not so light that it feels like it could fall off. The fan speeds and the airflow is simply refreshing. Mine, however, won't always turn on at the first press of the button. Sometimes it takes a few presses and sometimes it takes a long press. It's a bit disconcerting and makes me wonder if I didn't already receive a defective one. I hope not. One thing is sure, it DOES NOT turn on while it is charging. Maybe it's not supposed to? Also, while it is charging, it whines. Sometimes jiggling the plug will make it stop whining and sometimes it doesn't. The manual speaks of a lithium-ion battery with the possibility of leakage or explosion. Could they have not used a safer battery source, especially for something that's to be worn around the neck? It does make me a bit nervous. And because the device does not come with a memory or the ability to stop charging when it is fully charged, the manual advises that you watch it carefully, and when it is fully charged (all three lights solid) that you unplug it to avoid damage due to overcharging. Conversely, you're not supposed to let it run totally down until it's dead either. For the size of the box, this fan came in, they could have printed the "manual" on bigger paper, or at least bolded the print to make it readable. Again, due to the lithium-ion battery, they suggest storing the fan at 80% charge in a well-ventilated area at a moderate room temperature. ... show more

    • My experience after two years of owning.
Used this quite often for past two summers, but now the blades seem to be loose or something and they get a noisy/rattle/vibration sound often so I’m looking for a different one. This is my second type of neck fan and it’s slightly more powerful and less noisy than my last one with a similar design. Most of the noise is just fan noise normally (excluding the rattle) but it’s pretty loud being right next to your face. Overall I’m happy with the purchase especially for the money, but I’d really like a more powerful one that cools my whole neck/head instead of just being concentrated on my face, I feel like that’d be more effective at cooling when it’s especially hot. This bladed type is especially good for “hot flashes” when your face just gets sweaty and you can really concentrate the fans right on your face, but when it’s really hot your neck and head aren’t getting any cooling, and that’s where I think the bladeless 360 types would do better. ... show more
