Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Bissell Steam Mop has garnered mixed reviews but overall favorable ones. Customers have described the mop as efficient, powerful, and capable of making floors shine. However, issues around its durability were raised along with aspects like the fit of the mop pads and the functionality of the scrub brush. Despite this, the positives seemed to outweigh the negatives as users loved the cleanliness and freshness the mop brought to their floors.

Pros

  • 🔹 Provides a high steam output for efficient cleaning
  • 🔸 Lightweight and easy to maneuver around homes
  • 🔹 Long cord length that facilitates seamless cleaning of large spaces
  • 🔸 Had impressive results on various surfaces including tiles and hardwood floors
  • 🔹 The mop leaves floors feeling smooth and clean

Cons

  • 🔻 Durability issues have been reported, with some units malfunctioning within a year
  • 🔸 The mop pads are a tight fit and can be difficult to change
  • 🔻 The mop doesn't lock in place when standing up
  • 🔸 The scrub brush tends to pop off when too much pressure is applied

Should I Buy It?

Despite minor issues with durability and certain design elements, the Bissell Steam Mop performs well and delivers a high level of cleanliness. Its benefits well outweigh its cons, and it would be a worthwhile purchase for those looking to eliminate traditional mopping with a bucket. As long as expectations are managed about the durability and consumers are ready to handle some of its design quirks, this should be a great addition to most homes.

  • It’s amazing!
Style: Powerfresh
It’s very easy to use and lightweight. I have used it every day since I received it. It comes with two pads, one for lighter cleaning and one that’s for more deeper cleaning. They’re equally good at cleaning but I definitely noticed a difference in the crevices of my tile when I switched to the heavier/textured pad. The brush option is perfect for grout! Very easy to switch to the brush option, you just press the foot pedal and pull the steamer off the pad, very easy! I tried it on my laminate flooring and it streaked but that’s my fault, the pad was too wet. There is a little slot for a scented disc, I think it’s a great idea actually but the scent isn’t really my style. I’m hoping they make other scents, it works very well and really fills the room with the aroma. I will be purchasing extra pads, I have quite a bit of floor space and once the pad gets soaked, it needs to be replaced. Just buy it! ... show more

  • Very Good!
Style: Powerfresh
I wanted a mop that was lightweight, easy to maneuver, did not require the use of cleaning powders or liquids, reduced bacteria and virus’ , stores easily in as small a space as possible. I ordered this Bissell and basically got exactly what I wanted! i have used a steam cleaner in the past (like 20 years ago) - it was a canister model that did a decent job but was a bit clunky to lug about. As age encroaches I found that I wanted a lighter, easier to manage steam mop that was light, easy to use, and cleaned like a wizard. I started doing some research and landed i. the Bissel. I am sensitive to many cleaning products. Steam sanitizes without the need for cleaning products! This model is easier to use and has very few - if any- negatives. Pros: * Lightweight * Very easy to maneuver. The cleaning head swivels to get into most any odd shaped or small area. * Produces prodigious steam in very little time. * Has two steam settings : regular steam and prodigious steam! * Easy to refill with water * Simple and intuitive to use. * The cleaning pads are well made, fit securely, clean very well and wash up perfectly. To me thats’s a win! Potential Cons * For anyone with arthritis in your hands and wrists - the handle could use a bit of padding. Certainly not a deal breaker but thought I would mention it. * Uses distilled water. I drink filtered water and I think that it will be sufficient - does not use all that much! I used it on vinyl flooring, LVP flooring, and tile flooring and it worked like a champ on all of them. Good product. Reasonable price. Clean, sanitized, floors! ... show more

  • Life changing for the cleaning enthusiast
Style: Powerfresh
Having used this, I think that Swiffer just moves dirt and grime around on the floor instead of picking it up. I could not believe the bottom of my pad after 20 minutes of owning this machine. I will never go back to using a Swiffer and steam mops are the way forward. My buying notes: 1. As many others have stated, the water reservoir had droplets in it upon arrival. This has to be a QA/QC thing, but it would be nice for Bissell or Amazon to figure out how to either leave a note or to dry it out. Many of us thought we had received a used steam mop that was sent back. Not a big deal at the end of the day after learning about this. 2. The mop does make a slight sound while in use, like a soft knocking or gurgling, but not an issue. It would be nice for the startup guide to mention these so customers don't think they have a broken mop though. 3. The cord length is massively long (25 ft), way longer than my Shark vacuum. I will say this is a house type item for sure. If you have a small space like an apartment and don't like plugged in items, I'd look for a Tineco cordless steam mop. I like corded items mostly because the power output is usually better, and I don't have to worry about recharging. 4. The detachable base is nice for the bristle brush. It comes in handy for a lot of spots, especially in the bathroom and on tile. I do wish there was a more handheld aspect though that wasn't as awkward to hold for smaller areas. 5. The washable pads are awesome and work very well. The scent pads are a plus but not something I need. 6. As an equipment repair technician, I highly suggest making sure you use demineralized, distilled water or RO water. Over time, the chemicals and elements in tap water or a diluted cleaning agent will degrade the functions/parts of this unit. Any piece of equipment that is dealing in pressure, fluid and high temperatures is going to eventually breakdown sooner rather than later without proper maintenance. Reading the reviews, I already don't expect to get 10 years out of this thing, but I'm wondering how many issues were self-inflicted by not using the right water or not storing it properly. 7. As slim as this unit is, storing it is something to think about. I hang mine on my utility wall after draining and drying. I also detach the base to hang that separately as well. The base is quite wide like a large vacuum head. ... show more

  • Steam cleaner

I expected more steam out of it while using but I barely see any. It does get hot and my floors dry fast so it must be working because my floors look nice and clean afterwards and the pad is dirty. I’ve only used it twice so I’ll update later if anything changes. I like that it doesn’t leave dirty water on my floors and it doesn’t use a lot of the distilled water so the tank lasts thru my cleaning.. I bought a bottle of bissell fresh mineral water but haven’t read directions or used it and Amazon also suggested generic brand extra pads which I bought and I’m glad to have extras. I like that the pads stay put as it wraps onto it and are not attached by Velcro type fasteners I tried the brush attachment on my tile grout and was not impressed. It just gets water on the grout and even though more steam I wasn’t sure if it was doing much cleaning . Overall I’m happy with it, it’s light and convenient and heats up fast. ... show more
