I bought the Crayola Air-Dry Clay to make Christmas ornaments with my son, and it turned out to be the perfect choice! The clay is soft, easy to work with, and dries beautifully without cracking, just make sure you make the ornaments thick enough, about an 1/2'' or more. It took 2-3 days to completely dry, which was the only down side. Once the ornaments dried, we decorated them with paint and permanent marker, and they turned out so cute! The clay holds detail well, so even little handprints and textures show up nicely. This clay is affordable, versatile, and great for kids and parents alike. This clay is very nice as I can shape it well and use it. Though, it does get all over my hands and is a bit difficult to make smooth abd not break it in the process. The airdry is nice though there are always times where you need it to dry and times you dont I do wish it came with tools along with it though Aside all that, this clay is only good for making thick models and nothing thin. If made thin, it will Be extremely delicate. There is no possibility to stop for a while and continue as you use it though as its air dry its expected. If it dries, its much harder to add onto it which is also expected. Overall this is good for crafts though the texture isn’t designed to be able to handle smooth looking resulted models ... show more

I haven’t used this stuff since I was like 10th grade? I’m 38. So it’s been a very, very long time. Positives: super fun. engaging for kids of all ages. clay dries within 48 hours or so, depending on thickness of the creation- so make sure to plan ahead if you end up wanting to paint! Cons: messy! I gave my daughter a bowl of water to be able to dip her fingers into while working with it! Works great on a towel at table/counter. We also had a few damp wash cloths handy as well.
