Style: Steam Pickup
This is my first vac/mop combo. I have used a steam mop for years and I am sold on the power of steam. However the pads always seem to stir up a bunch of stuff that needs vacuuming. I saw the shark 3 in 1 steam pickup on the Just a Dad channel and was impressed with the effectiveness and simplicity, not to mention the low price point. My experience it's lightweight builds up steam quickly, very effective at removing stuck on stains and picking up debris. Certainly has a limit to how much it can pick up with the relatively small collection tray, but it has made me reevaluate how important suction is vs head construction on a vacuum. This thing does not use suction but I would be hard pressed to say it doesn't pick up everything a normal vacuum would plus mopping the floor. The cons, since it doesn't suction it leaves the floor pretty wet especially if you have to work over a spot for a bit. It will pick up spills milk, water etc. but it is not going to dry out the floor a whole lot. Just leaves it clean and wet. If you want steam you are going to have a cord and I think this is an excellent choice. It certainly is nice not having to buy a bunch of proprietary solutions, just water. If you give up steam something cordless may be a little more convenient, although cleaning this thing is super quick and easy, the dirty stuff is all confined to three easy to access and sink wash components. And the cord is long and really only adds the time to plug in and wrap up. Last thought if you have a flooring type that is sensitive to heat or water ie. Some types of lvp, linoleum, or hard wood anything not sealed, you may want to be careful with this it is both hot and wet. Maybe something that vacuums and stays cold will keep your floor dryer and prevent warping or loosening glue. ... show more

I just got this and used it for the first time today. I love my Shark vacuum so when my old steam mop stopped working I decided to get this . It cleans the floors so much better than my old one. It heats up and you can actually see the steam coming off of it . It’s easy to work and easy to clean. It has a really long cord so you don’t have to keep unplugging it and moving it. For a sub $200 machine without much technology (exactly what I'd prefer, less change of a break down), it does the job incredibly well. With steam and an effective brush, it scrubs way more dirt and dried up grease than a typical mop and with near zero labor. I've used it both on ceramic tile and laminated wood, this unit exceeded my expectations. I read through a lot of the reviews and decided the small amount of water it leaves behind while mopping wasn't a big deal. A lot of people report streaking - I also noticed this but found it got better the more I used the steamer. I think the streaking is residue from other cleaners. I have used this on ceramic tile, linoleum, and sealed hardwood (on the low steam setting). My linoleum is textured which usually requires me to give it a full scrub with a brush a couple times of year but this got the stuff out of the texture so that in itself will be a win. I would also recommend getting yourself some of the slip on floor dusters for your feet. This gives a few advantages - you can walk on the slightly damp floor if you need to, you can swish up the little bit of water left behind, and if you have tile like me - you can use your foot to scrub the grout lines if needed. I usually do a full scrub on those one a month in the high traffic areas but this will make that last longer. While this does vacuum, if you have a lot of pet hair or a lot of dry stuff on the floor - just vacuum or sweep it first. The "dry" chamber isn't very big and a lot of hair clogs it up. This is part of the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. The other reason is the stand has somewhere to put the brush roller to dry but not the other parts. I end up just resting them against the body of the machine but it would be better if the stand was a little bigger and could hold them. ... show more

The width is surprisingly small. It is small and nimble enough that you can even get under furniture and into most tight spaces. It is also light and a lot easier than scrubbing with a regular steam mop. It also picks up most stuff off a floor. The downside is that it is small so you will be doing more passes. It is great for a small retirement condo because of the space-saving design, but probably not as great for a larger home. The product is a definite game changer, and I highly recommend it. Pros: - Small, nimble size great for small spaces. - Easy to use with nice controls. - Fast warm-up time for steam. - Steam output is good. - Quiet operation. - Ability to take the water container out to fill it is much more convenient than having to fill it with measuring cup. - Self-propelled in the forward direction to steam the area. Reverse gives you more scrubbing and pickup power. - Roller seems durable and cleans with a simple rinse. No more yucky pads to rinse and wash. - Just rinse the removable pieces in the sink for clean up. - Convenient stand for drying the roller and main unit, though you still may want to dry the removable pieces separately after rinsing. - Lights on the unit can help you see, but it won't be correcting your vision from a poorly lit area. - Cord is of good quality and length. - Rubber wheels on the back are nice, but the plastic bottom of the unit can still clank on uneven tiles or tiles with wide gaps. Cons: - Small size requires twice as many passes. - Small size may require frequent clean up and refills. It cleans about 200-400 sq ft before needing to clean it out and refill.
