I bought an alternate menthol spray after having shoulder surgery. It worked well--or so I thought. When my can ran out, I purchased Biofreeze to try. I can't explain why, but the difference between Biofreeze and similar menthol products is significant. The others just don't have the same cooling power that Biofreeze has, despite these products all having the same concentration of menthol. Yes, there is a menthol odor, but I can live with that given how much relief I get from the spray. ... show more

    • Work good but…
I like to product. It’s works really well. The problem I have is the bottle its self. The sprayer takes so much strength to use. I have arthritis in my hands and it makes it almost impossible to spray. I have to get someone to spray it for me. A trigger nozzle would be much better.

I've kept BioFreeze handy for years and used it for sore muscles. It goes on very cold, but while a bit of a shock at first it takes only a few seconds to appreciate the numbing cold. It seems to last too - I don't have to reapply quickly. I like these taller bottles; easy to hold, harder to lose, and they seem to have a better spraying mechanism than the smaller bottles, which were always getting stuck. ... show more

    • My go to for relief!
Spray version makes it easier to spray in those hard to reach areas (back, neck, knees, feet). It goes on cool but soon it warms up and provides muscle aches relief.

Really provides fast relief. Goes on ice cold (freeze part, yah?) so prepare for that. Seriously its like your wifes icecube feet placed on you as you climb into bed after a warm shower. That cold. But it works, and lasts respectably long.
