We have repositioned them to the sides of the bumper to broaden the illuminated area. I bought this for my 12 year old son and this truck was perfect! The controller was surprisingly easy to use, the truck was super responsive to quick changes and it is FAST! We use it off road and in cement and it Hardee’s gets sticks because it’s so powerful. Battery life is surprisingly long and the unit comes with two batteries for quick swapping. Batteries don’t take very long g to charge either. One battery was fully charged before the other one ran out of juice. Swapping batteries is easy too, my son does it with ease. I must also comment on the customer service too. My dog got to the car and with one bite punctured the shell. I contacted the company for replacement parts and they were quick to respond and send out part. I couldn’t believe how easy it was and how helpful they company was to accommodate our need. These cars are *very* fast. Too fast for a child under 12- 14 years old to control. I think a lot these reviews don't understand what 30mph really looks like while youre standing still. Your 6yr old will break this. Easly. I bought 4 different Bezgar trucks (HM161, HM162, this one HM163, & HP161) for myself and my 3 boys for Christmas (2022). The HP161 is the fastest and most modern, however, it has plastic components in the driveline where the HP161S is an all metal driveline & brushless motor. This truck still does wheelies just fine though. The HM163 (this truck) would be my next pick as it has a full metal driveline & 1k mAh battery, but still has a brushed motor, the only downside imho. I beat the hell out of it and it's held up great. If you launch this off a ramp it can take it. Driving full speed into concrete dead on, not so much. Don't be a potato. These trucks can take a real beating, and as we've enjoyed them parts have failed. I find myself slowly turning this base model in to the upgraded version 1 parts order at a time. The Bezgar site has a good deal on them and as much fun as this truck is, I wish I bought the "S" for the extra $60 or $70. HM161 / HM162 are essentially all plastic, 750mAh battery, and the same frame with different bodies. Although upgradeable, you could start off higher up the ladder for a similar price with the HP161 or HM163. Hope this helps! Have fun! ... show more

    • Great little truck AND customer service!
We bought these trucks for our kiddos at Christmas. Had a part break and couldn't find a replacement. Contacted customer service and they did everything in their power to help us correct the problem. Even sent us a replacement part for free. The truck runs great. Is pretty fast and is a GREAT starter rc if you're thinking of getting into the hobby! Definitely recommend Bezgar and this truck! ... show more

    • Fun little truck!
We bought this as a gift for our son, 7, for Christmas. Its been a blast so far and the truck goes anywhere and drives through serious stuff. The remote pairs great, and is pretty responsive to his touch. I have to knock a star off for battery life, it is pretty short, but they do send 2 in the box. I have to say their customer service is great. I emailed them at night to activate the warranty and received a response the next morning that the warranty had been activated. That being said, the motor on the truck seemed to have died (I think it was more from being used by a young boy nearly as much as the batteries would let him, than it being a cheap motor) and I contacted customer service about it. They had a new motor in the mail the next day! No questions asked. Hopefully this new motor holdsup. I will update when we know. Overall 4 ****'s for this based on the deal we got with it being on sale, the fact that it is hobby grade, 4WD, comes with 2 batteries and an extra blank body we can paint, and the great customer service. If this new motor holds up I will probably get one similar to this model to play with with my boy. ... show more

I ordered this truck for my son for Christmas 🎄 and unfortunately it lasted about 30mins before it stops working. But from what I got to see the truck was super fast and very well built. With that being said I checked on returning it but instead they replaced it with the same exact thing and shipped it out the next day no questions asked!!! That is truly a gentleman's thing to do. So for that reason the truck Is worth every penny!! Thanks for everything guys. ... show more

    • Good car for the price, great customer service
I bought this for my 12 year old son and he really liked it. It is really fast and has good suspension. He didn't play with it much, but about after 8 months, a wire on the motor & ESC burned. I contacted customer service and they sent me the parts since it was still under warranty. The ESC was actually back ordered, so they ordered one on Amazon and sent it to me. I was able to repair the car myself and it is back in working order. ... show more

    • Cheap plastic
This is an expensive entry-level hobby car that should last more than a couple charges... However ours did not. I was disappointed that the second time my son got to use this he ran it into my car's tire and it literally broke into pieces... He didn't run it into any metal he ran it into the rubber and he wasn't trying to break it.. it was an accident but the plastic that holds the tires on snapped. This should be made so much better than it is. There are incredibly weak thin parts of plastic throughout the frame where the tires attached and where other components are leading to very easy brakes where it wouldn't been that way if they had done some sort of a hexagonal weave or solid plastic. The speed and battery life were fine. I would have been okay with the price if not for how cheap and flimsy it ended up being. He is very sad because this was his main present for his birthday. ... show more
