Heat transfer is a new generation of technology that uses special sublimation inks and sublimation transfer paper. The pattern printed on the product does not produce colloid. I'm a first time user with a heat press so this is coming from a newbie standpoint: Its heavy as far as weight goes so becareful. Its smooth rotating handle and it takes about little less than 10 minutes to heat up to 315 degrees which is the temperature that most vinyl uses. The alarm for the timer is loud which is good unless you have thin walls and easily irritated neighbors then not so much. The instructions weren't exactly simple but with a little common sense, was easy to figure out. Nothing came broken. I'm excited to use the additional accessories for my next projects! Will update in coming months about the versatility and the machines progression. Overall, it's a lot better than an iron and the easy press I used at my friends. I used it to create these shirts for Halloween! A lot better and faster than my iron! Oct 1 2021 Update: my heat press is still going strong! I still have not used the attachments as I have enjoyed layering canvas and shirts! When purchasing the heatpress, add a roll of parchment paper. I've had a few mistakes in where the vinyl was upside down and the letters stuck to the paper but had it not been there, it would have stuck to the press. I've had one moment where the lever needed a little lubricant as it began to squeak. Maybe by next year, I'll have another update and have used the accessories lol ... show more

    • Falls off the handle

I ordered this press because it was the only press that could get here in 2 days after my other caught fire. Thank God my husband is a handyman (not as a profession) and has tools because it was missing screws. Now that I have had it for a month, the actual heating plate keeps unscrewing to the point my husband is fixing on the press at least once per week. It literally falls off the handle...LITERALLY DETACHES ITSELF FROM THE HANDLE. It's so frustrating because I usually have at least 20-35 shirt orders per client. This machine is very poorly made. I saw the reviews and bought it anyway (smh) because I really needed something to finish my orders on time. I do not recommend this press unless you or someone you know that's close by is a handyman. ... show more

We received our 5 in 1 very quick. After unboxing we discovered a coupling that was bad. After contacting the company they fixed our problem and within a week we had our replacement. They responded to every email within 24 hours. Highly recommend Bettersub!

I really wanted to give this machine a try after having it a couple of months and returning my original one that came with missing pieces this is an absolutely awful machine & I wouldn’t even recommend this item at an extremely discounted rate!!! Each time I would try using it for sublimation my colors were so faded I would end up having to turn to my cricut easy press to get an actually finished decent piece!! Save your wallet & time!!! I was a little nervous about this machine because of the great price but I couldn’t be happier! It’s easy to use and saves me SO much time! And the HTV stays on so much better than it ever did with my iron or easy press. Definitely a must have if you are a tshirt maker!
