I did a lot of research before making this purchase. Despite simplicity, these fountains are such that you what you pay for. Extremely happy with this purchase. It takes a little time for the ball to start turning in the beginning. After running for awhile (a day or two), it starts to turn easily. The pump is silent when the water-level is maintained properly.The lights changing colors and the ball turning make a perfect focal point for meditation, and the sound of the water is perfect for the average bedroom or office.
