I needed a under the bed safe and this checked off the list. It fits under our bed perfectly. I appreciate the mounting options which provide a cable lock (since I can't drill into the floor). I also love that it has a built in light so I can see inside the safe at night. Highly recommend.

    • (UPDATE: Seller sent replacement keypad.) Keypad died within minutes of putting in batteries

Safe fits a pistol grip shotgun, a pistol grip rifle and a .45 handgun (plus two PMAG magazines and two or three handgun mags), but you have to stack the long guns on top of each other a bit in order to have them both fit. Fortunately, the safe is just tall enough. The pistol grip rifle has an EOTech HWS on it, so that adds to the overall height of the weapon. I may put some sort of thin padding or a cloth in between them to protect the finish. Not worried too much since neither weapon gets pulled out very often. The LED light is a nice touch, but it's quite dim. I added a puck-style light from Home Depot and just tucked it in between the front panel and the egg crate foam. It's motion sensitive, so it will turn on automatically. Much brighter. The included keys are laser cut and can be inserted upside down or right side up, adding to speed if the keypad dies. On that note, I inserted four fresh AA alkaline batteries into the keypad and pressed the factory code. The keypad started beeping, but then the beeping started to fade away. Thinking that I somehow had bad fresh batteries, I swapped them out for another set of fresh batteries. Now the keypad did not make any noise at all. I pulled the batteries out thinking that the keypad might need to be "rebooted" (for lack of a better term) but that was ineffective. I contacted the seller and am awaiting a reply. Hoping that I can just swap out the keypad for another one. If I have to, I'll exchange the safe for another one. UPDATE: The seller initially replied that they didn't have any replacement keypads. When I pressed further, they did somehow manage to find a keypad. Weird. They said they would send it out, but I had to follow up with them to remind them, perhaps due to the Christmas season. The new keypad works great, so I'm revising my review as well as the score. Seller was polite and professional. ... show more

This is a really nice safe (or second safe) for under the bed. I was thinking it could also be used to securely move things in a vehicle, and it can, but it is heavy duty steal and might take two people to move. It is not going to walk away from under the bed for sure. My apolitcal statement as a firearm owner, it is hard to believe the vast majority of our tragic firearms problems would be eliminated by secure storage. Stay safe ... show more

Great way to secure items under a bed if you have the clearance. Two holes are available to bolt down to the floor which is a good idea. Well made thick steel exterior and the 3 locking bolts on the drawer seem to be very secure. One improvement would be to have a lighted keypad. However, I installed a motion sensing light bar just above the keypad so I can easily see the keypad when it is dark. There is an access panel in the back of the safe interior that you can access the holes when bolting to the floor. I created a template for the hole location with a piece of cardboard to get the hole location on the floor in the right place since I had to pre drill the holes in the floor to utilize the concrete anchors that I purchased separately. ... show more

I really appreciated that the safe was packaged and protected well with thick foam and corner guards as it weighs a lot! I wish it were a few inches deeper to better accommodate 2 AR’s comfortably. Should you buy it? Yes. If you have kids or don't want to worry about anchoring a safe to the wall and don't want to worry about a giant safe falling down then pick this one up. It is an amazing safe. This safe fist is right under the foot of my bed which is perfect. It is large enough for a 12 gauge shotgun and AR 15. I can hold a couple of mags in there plus a couple of dehumidifier bags. The safe itself is very sturdy and well-made. I had no issues with the locking mechanism. The keys work and the keypad works well. The keypad is not lit but that is okay with me. One of the biggest things is to reset the passcode it is super easy to do. Overall this safe is perfect if you don't need to store a whole bunch of items and just want to keep your weapons under the bed or a similar location.
