I bought 3 sets of these BalanceFrom Everyday Essentials plates - 10lbs, 15lbs and 25lbs. They do have a strong chemical odor like other reviewers talked about. I wiped the plates down twice with lysol spray and hoping the smell calms a bit after some use. They do come with tiny dings here and there and small cracks where the hole is. Let us see how they hold up after a few months! Another thing I was confused by was the fact that the packaging said Wal Mart on it. I am not sure why but I am now assuming that these barbell plates are from Wal Mart although the sellers name is Balance From on Amazon? So just a heads up! Other than that I am totally satisfied with these. Will update these review in a few months to tell you how they are keeping up. ... show more

Solid enough, only wear after a couple years is the paint on the numbers has flaked off. Doesn't matter much because the numbers are raised. They arrive with manufacturer oil on them and have some factory smell. Smell was not overwhelming. I would buy again.

Unbelievable, these 10lb plates fold under their own weight I can’t imagine them under the pressure of a 45lb bar they would probably bend at a 95. Actually pretty dangerous if you were to drop them with the bar attached It would probably touch the floor. First pair of bumper plates purchased but I doubt they’re suppose to have the rigidity of a worn out shoe. Definitely don’t recommend these ... show more

First off for the price, they’re one of the best value bumpers you can buy. From far away, they look really good! Up close, you can see a lot of imperfections, dents, scratches, etc. and keep in mind this was new. Smell wasn’t too bad, it’s rubber, it goes away in a few days. I purchased the weight primarily because it matches the logo of my fitness company and looks great on the bumper plate rack. However, I still need this weight to be functional enough to support the impacts of the exercises and not waffle. This bumper appears to be sturdy and of good quality. If I have to use this size plate alone for a deadlift or Olympic lift, then its purpose is to create a load appropriate for the skill level of the client. So in a controlled environment, I have observed it to be dependable. However, I am not sure how it would perform in a high-intensity interval training environment loaded on a 45lb bar; the combination of high volume, fast-as-you-can reps on a heavy 45lb bar would create some lateral impacts that could damage most 15lb bumpers. ... show more

    • Weights are accurate
I bought these as a set package of 260# - 2 plates each 10,15, 25, 35, and 45# plates. All plates are within .6 pounds over the marked weight. (None are under the marked weight.) At the time of my purchase, these were the cheapest price per pound plates I was able to find, and considering these were bumper plates (as opposed to iron, which is normally the cheaper option,) I am quite happy with my purchase, as I'm sure my basement floor will be. The colors look like a pack of fruit stripe gum exploded to make the set. I would have preferred plain black, but beggars can't be choosers. If you have the cash and are concerned about aesthetics, these are not the plates for you. If you're trying to build a home gym without breaking the bank (next to impossible these days,) and don't care as long as it's weight, these fit the bill. I did initially notice the harsh smell others have listed in their review, however it dissipated quickly. It was not strong to begin with unless you're putting your face right up against the plates, which, why are you doing that? I did also notice at first a bit of grease on the edges and the center, but that is give now that I've used them a few times. Packaging was a little rough when it arrived, but most of the plates were packaged as a set, and obviously heavy. Some were double boxed. Nothing was damaged in shipping, regardless. I will be copying this message for the other plates in the set, as it does not list it the way I purchased it for review. ... show more

    • Excellent Bumper Plates for Any Workout

I recently purchased the Everyday Essentials 35lb bumper plate for my home gym, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. These plates are incredibly durable and have held up well during my intense workouts. They fit perfectly on my barbell and have a nice snug fit, which helps to prevent any unwanted movement during lifts. What I really appreciate about these bumper plates is their versatility. They're great for Olympic lifts like snatches and clean and jerks, but they're also perfect for powerlifting exercises like deadlifts and squats. The rubber material is high quality and doesn't have that strong rubber odor that some other bumper plates have.
