Description

The Revolver X2 aluminum hard rolling truck bed cover made with durable aluminum slats that sit flush with the truck bed for a stylish, low profile appearance. This is an amazing cover. Love it very much. I really wasn't looking to pay this much for a cover but it is worth the money and will last a very long time. Every time I see it (daily) I am happy with the purchase. My friend and I were able to install it in 30-40 minutes. It sits very flat and is very good looking.     • its coming apart after 24 months of use.
I really liked the performance of this roll up unit. It provides security and looks good. however I have to downgrade it because after two years of service and excellent maintenance its coming apart and I need to replace it. For a $1000 piece of equipment that is unacceptable. I have had the cheap fabric roll up units last for two and three times that long. Now I have to replace it. Outrageous The failure modes are varied. The fabric strips that run along the underside on each edge of the cover assist with rolling it up but they are glued to the metal and the glue has failed. As a result they are separating from the cover and fall into the bed such that when I go to roll it up I have a mess. They also catch on anything that is in the bed and make it a real challenge to roll up the cover. I was looking at the mess seeing if there is something I can do to address the issue when I found that the sides are also separating. the vinyl cover is apparently also glued to the metal frame along with the rubber edge seals. The edge seals are separating and the vinyl is shrinking and the sides no longer seal fully. Its just totally unacceptable and I highly recommend that the manufacturer either price this unit for a two year life or they make significant changes to the design to prevent these kinds of failures. My next challenge is finding something that works and will hopefully last more than 24 months. ... show more

    • Still a great choice but...
Having purchased 3 tonneau covers from BAK I can say I am familiar with their product and have grown to respect their overall quality. Now with more high end choices, it’s harder to forgive a few shortcomings I noted while installing my recent purchase of the Revolver X2. By and large the packaging does its job but both side rails had small scratches once unpacked. The plastic bags meant to prevent this were intact so it’s hard to explain, perhaps they were packaged this way. Further to the side rails, I gather they’re ‘cut’ to fit the truck as ordered, but it’s unforgivable to ship them without any effort to ‘finish’ (smooth) these modified areas. They’re extremely rough, look unfinished, and are sharp. For the money, it would seem they could invest a little of it in this area. Finally the adhesive meant to hold down the ends of the vinyl strips covering the track didn’t hold and required attention (more adhesive). Still a ‘fan’ but they could do better. ... show more

Extremely easy to install and it looks fantastic! My favorite part about it is how secure it locks down and the fact that someone can't break into it whenever the tailgate is closed.

    • Poor quality for the price
Product did not fit my 2017 2500 Ram 6'4" bed. Although very heavy, the product felt cheap, not what I'm used to with BAK products. The left rail was angled down and would run into the tailgate so I couldn't close it. the plastic tabs along the edge of the cover, that lock it into place didn't fit into the last 12" of the rails, with out banging on it with my palm the cover was about 1/8" too wide. I tried re-adjusting, shimming, but nothing would make this fit properly so I returned it because I shouldn't have to do that to make it fit properly. It would also visibly move up and down slightly while driving,(took it on one test drive) similar to a basic vinyl cover, not what I want from a hard cover. The clamps at the end that would lock the cover closed also felt very cheap, and since it didn't fit properly, were very difficult to release.     • BakFlip Revolver X2 review
The unit itself fit well and looks great. However the workmanship is crude. Some of the metal parts appear to have been ground down by hand and are rough and unfinished. There are sharp edges on the end of the support rails that you can easily get cut with if you're not careful when standing in the bed or loading things in the bed. For the price I expected first class workmanship. Also I have a MOPAR bed extender installed. The bed extender and the cover do not work well together. Before I installed the cover in order to use the bed extender I just had to open the tail gate and flip over the bed extender to use it. Now with the cover installed and rolled up, I have to open the tailgate and remove the bed extender from its mounts and then flip it over and then reinstall it into the mounts. That is because the cover's support rails block the bed extender from flipping over while it is in its mounting bracket. The bed extender can still work. It just takes extra steps to get it to work. It is a little annoying. I checked with BakFlip's support and there is no retrofit kit to make the two units work together. Like I said it looks great. But because of the high price and so so workmanship I can only give it three stars. Don't forget to be careful when working around the tailgate area when the support rails are exposed. ... show more

    • Easy to install, easy to operate. Takes an hour to put it in.
I found this tonneau cover to be a lot better than the one that came with my truck. The one that Ram gave me is a four panel flip type. When I folded it back it would flip back with the wind. It was also a pain when I needed access to the whole bed and I had to take it off. This one from BAK rolls right up and ties with a clip. The construction is excellent. It is easy to use. It takes about an hour to install. It rolls up very easy. It opens and locks well. You need to make sure you align it in your bed squarely but that is pretty simple. All the material seems well made and it is flush with the bed. Overall excellent. I saved 60.00 over every other site by buying it on amazon. ... show more

    • Expensive, but you get what you pay for
This is a really innovative design for a tonneau. I love that it is made of interlocking aluminum so it is very secure. It is also nice that it keeps it locked to your bed tightly. Overall I think it is a excellent tonneau cover
